I dont know how it is in the UK , but here in the US many people feel that the more expensive the lawyer is , the more likely they get off the hook.
Why is this you think?

They can arbitrarily pick punishments without being questioned. Say a judge had a fight with his wife in the morning, so instead of 5 years someone gets 20 years. So someone loses 15 years of his life just because the judge happened to be in a bad mood that day. Does this seem wrong to anyone else?

my son in 13 and goes to an elementery school he is in 6 grade. we have been haveing trouble with the bus driver writing him up for no reason. well to day the bus driver said he stood up on the bus and yelled pu$$y , and wrote him up. the boys that he was supposed to be calling this to was called in the office. the principal asked them if he said it they said no! the principal yelled at them till cried then they said yes he said it but my son still denied it so the frustrated principal grabbed the chair as my son sat in it and lifted him up and slammed it back down hard throwing my son and hitting his head ... i went to the boys house and spoke to them and there story is the same as my son .. how do i handle this situation and is it right . he wants my son to confess to something he DIDNOT do ! i have 7 witnesses that my son did not say it and 3 witnesses that the principal did in fact throw my son . he came home hurting so i took him to the ER and they said he was a little bruised

i have 2 boys ages 6 &8. my exhubby has custody, i gave him custody due to better financial stability (when i had custody it was 50/50 custody which means no child support &his family would have nothing to do w/ me & my family works which meant i had no help & couldnt afford child care) my ex refused to help me with childcare even tho he was able. as soon as i signed them over he began keeping them from me, our divorce stated i had "reasonable and liberal" visitation which means when he wants me 2 see em. since then ive gone 2 court & got all my visits set im happy w/that but hes now extremely alienating them from me more so my 6yrold , every other wk im spekin w/ social wrkrs due to fals allegations & hes told 6 y old im the step mom &smom is real mom, it took 7 mos to cler this up w/son but now hes continuosly putting me down &my home &so is his family what can i do? i tried to go thru ss & they say they cnt make em put kids in couns. its killin me to see kids go thru this! help!

One of my friend is working for Japanese travel agency in Sydney. Many employees in that company works more than 60 hours per week without overtime pay. Also the salary is about 30K to 35K. I think this could be illegal but my friend does not believe.
So could you give me some proof to show my friend?
Or is this normal in this industry?

I understand that children are not cheap.

HOWEVER, most people with kids CHOOSE to have them. This isnt the 1600s where you need 10 kids to run a family farm, in this day and age the notion of giving people with kids TAX BREAKS is done so because its politically popular, NOT because its right.

People with children NEED more government services on average then those without (schools, childcare programs etc)

Shouldnt they have to pay MORE or at least pay the same amount as those WITHOUT kids? Why make those without kids help pick up the tab for those WITH kids?

thanks for the response however I have already filed a complaint which is why the police are involved.
An italian passport was used and I the reciprint is not italian not only that it say's that if you reuest for somewhere specific they should honour that and they did'nt.
The police said the way they are operating is bad and I will have to take legal action. I am wondering if there are any alternatives. Please do not respond if you don't have a good answer.

Who owns the copyright of the preview mp3s which are freely available on record shop/commercial mp3 sites?
Can I legally sample a milisecond/second of these mp3s for use in my own productions?
Sub-query: If I purchase an MP3 and download it directly to a CD without it touching my hard-drive (so as not to replicate it illegally), what laws stop me from selling that CD as a product?

We have 2 dogs. Last year, neighbours complained about them barking. We followed council's recommendations. Last week, complaint was made about them barking. The complaint was dropped, but we feel victimised by the local council. Should we contact a solicitor so that next time a complaint is made, it is handled by a solicitor?

Given that human life on a large scale may be at stake is this a moral issue? Assuming that reputable science continues to whittle away at the already small degree of uncertainty. We have seen legislation on things like racism, ageism, sexism which would not have seemed conceivable 50 years ago. Does junk science need to added to the list?

What's next?? Now, they're imposing a £60 fine and 3 points on your licence if you're caught using a mobile phone. Using a mobile is just as distracting as having people in the car, whether using it on speaker or hands free. If that's the case, instead of promoting 2 or more people in one car, they'll end up banning that as well. Or maybe ban people from talking to each other? I'm not a smoker, but will they eventually ban smoking in cars as they're a confined space and other people in the car may not be smokers? Will this move to homes? Will we get ASBOs slapped on us for turning up the stereos in our cars above a certain level (which you probably cannot hear) just to listen to our favourite songs??

I'm sorry - I'm getting a little carried away with myself here! But the thing is, these things could be possible! Anyone else think we live in a ridiculous society - a nanny state turning into Big Brother. Anyone else getting very annoyed and worried??? Apologies again for the rant.
