One of my friend is working for Japanese travel agency in Sydney. Many employees in that company works more than 60 hours per week without overtime pay. Also the salary is about 30K to 35K. I think this could be illegal but my friend does not believe.
So could you give me some proof to show my friend?
Or is this normal in this industry?

It depends on the law of Australia, and what your friend signed up to in his/her contract. I suggest that he/she finds out what the contract says, and also what the law of the land is. Here in the UK we have the Working Time Directive, so we are covered for this kind of thing, but it may be different in Australia. Good luck!

Yes... It is really illegal to force your employees to work for 12 hrs. though there is a tendency for Asian-owned company to do so... it is totally illegal and can/should be complained about.
I suggest your friend to complain about this to the authorities.

Yes
No employer should make their staff work over 40 hours a week (if full time) or over 37 hours a week with out paying them over time. Your friend needs to stand up to them or get out and get another job.
