My husband is applying for a job at a bank and in the application it says that they perform a background check through the FBI. When he was younger (16), he got in trouble in a different state and got a misdemeanor on his juvenile record, which is now presumably sealed. Is this going to show up on this background check? He has never had an issue with it before when applying for other jobs, but we figured the bank would do a more thorough check.

I've already reported these incidents to IG and to the Superintendant of the facility with no avail. My brothers' visitations have been denied for over a year now and I am desperate for help, I even have several inmates writing to me and telling me of the abuse my brother has been subjected to. I have been told that he has lost severe weight and medical treatment has been denied to him. PLEASE, if there is anyone out there that can help me seek the help I ( MY BROTHER) so desperately need, I will be forever grateful...Every time I recieve a letter from an inmate I fear it to be horrible news, I'm terrified that my brother will die in prison and we will be left to believe it to be a suicide not MURDER....PLease help me help my Brother.

I will be leaving my apartment next month, but I still owe a month's rent. I do have a security deposit with them that is worth a month's rent. Should I just not pay and leave quietly? I know they are going to screw me out of my security deposit somehow even though the place is as perfect as when I moved in. Do landlords actually come after you for this kind of stuff? Doesn't it cost them more? I am moving to a different state if that means any difference. What should I do?

I don't think anyone would argue that the original intent of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) was a good idea and was focused to improve public safety.... Now some 20-plus years later MADD's influence and power to control legislation and law enforcement seems extremely unfair, unlogical and unconstitutional. Current laws influenced by MADD- Automatic loss of License for refusing a breath test- (without the right to counsel...!!!!), some states- Road Blocks and license checks without "any" or "just" cause....Charging DUI 2nd with no time limitations....Legislation that MADD is pursueing... dropping the legal limit from .08 to.05 which would "legally" make anyone "under the influence" having drank anything alcoholic....Wanting breath analyzers to be standard equiptment in all new cars.. And the list goes on... Is this use of lobbying influence unjust; bordering on socialism? Is their eventual desire to make alcohol illegal? It did'nt work with prohibition -why & how will it work now?

Back in the third grade, my teacher pushed me and I almost fell to the floor. This happened over 10 years ago, but I told my friend about it recently and she said I can't do anything now, but back then I should have told my parents. I don't know why I didn't, I was really scared of her. Everyone in the class liked her and I'm not trying to be racist, but she liked all the caucasions and chinese students and did NOT like any of the Indian students. She favoured the caucasions and chinese and whenever there was a fight, the Indian student would get in trouble even if it was the other person's fault. My (Indian) friend told me that she thought she was a racist towards Indians. Obviously I'm not going to do anything about it now, it happened SO long ago, but back then, was there even something I COULD have done at the age of 8? I'm just wondering.

Two weeks ago I found out that a one night stand is pregnant. She wavered back and forth and decided today that she wants to have the baby. I can't begin to describe how much I have come to despise this girl. She continues to work in a smokey bar, has done no research on pregnancy, and dismissed the suggestion of adoption out of hand. Having a child at this point in life would be disasterous. What are my rights? It's such an awful feeling having someone that I barely know controlling my future.

Ok, my sister was dating this guy, and they were renting-to-own a house. He made a deal with the land lord that he will pay him money when he gets his lawsuit and his Social Security money for being disable. He signed the contracts and made the deal. My sister never signed a thing. They split up and he moved out last month and my sister has been trying to move out. she finally did it today. :) However since her ex never payed the land lord any money, he is trying to take my sister to court for the money that he owes him.

Question:
Can he do that? What can my sister do?

when my son was born we left my name off the birth record so i would not have to pay the hospital bill for the birth, because i dont have insurance through my job,my girlfriend told them she had no idea who the father is,but they want to know, the only help we get for our son is the medicaid no other help is needed,so if i give in and tell them my name will have to pay support.

Is it me or does it seem that people have gotten very ignorant to the needs of others? Get this "a Toronto church's plan to shelter a dozen homeless people once a week during the cold winter months has been met by threats of an injunction from some area residents" (cbc.ca). Therefore, because the residences have nice warm beds to sleep in then who cares about those who do not. Does anyone else find it disconcerting that we view the homeless as lower then ourselves? Now here is my question well the last of a few Can some one please explain to me as to why these people feel the need to let people freeze outside when the church has more then graciously accepted them inside THEIR church which is NOT owned by the residence?

I have to have a surgery with a recovery time less than one week in the hospital. I got a jury duty notification with the court date the same time I will be in the hospital. It's not an elective surgery, but it's not so critical that I won't be able to move it back a couple of weeks if I have to. I would like to get it over with, though. I have never been summoned for jury duty before. Any help would be great.
