Or does anyone know of an attorney whose practice is in this area? I have a pending constitutional tort against NCC Police and have yet to find an attorney. A retired Judge friend of mine said that one can only prosecute in JP court as Pro Se, and he suggested going out of state for an attorney to get around the conflict of interest that I've found with most in-state attorneys I've spoke to. Though he didn't sit in on the bench in Superior Court and my reading of the Court rules disagrees with his statement. I could represent myself, though counsel would probably be preferred for their procedural experience and due to the fact that the case is essentially against the state.

I personally know some people who had botched plastic surgery and none of them can sue their surgeons (not famous - just normal people). No lawyer will take the case. So, then I think - well look at Hollywood... Michael Jackson is an extreme case who probably wanted to look the way he does, but I am sure meg ryan, did not. Tara reid openly talks about her botched breast aug, yet she never sued her first doctor. I can't help but think - why aren't they suing over whatever they did to her... NOR revealing the docs name?? and why is it so hard to sue a plastic surgeon? I know someone who had a big nose 10 yrs ago and went though 4 corrective operations just so she could breathe again after the first doctor destroyed her nose (he was never sued & the others who tried to fix it did their best in a bad situation). i know dozens of other people who had bad lipo, breast aug, etc... but the surgeon is like free to do whatever he wants unless the patient dies basically.

I don't want to write out every last detail, so I will try to make this as short as possible. I am a 20 year old woman that is very concerned about her credit. I checked my credit report about a month or so ago and noticed that I had some accounts that I did not open myspace. Upon further investigation I found that my own mother was putting my name on her stuff without my permission and making me have delinquent accounts. My mom left me when I was 12 to run off with her boyfriend at the time and has only came to see me twice in the 8 years that she has been gone. I called her and asked her respectively to set it straight, but she hung up in my face and will no longer answer my calls. Does anyone have advise for me on what to do and contact information for someone that could help me in this case?.....Oh, I already have a Fraud Alert on my report......

Have they lowered crime rates? Have they done any good at all? What could we do instead of prisons? Should we do like they did in biblical times?

2 weeks ago me and my girlfriend were sitting at a stop light when a truck to my right got my attention, it was a guy that didnt like me and i had been having conflict with. He was cussing at me so i shot him the finger. He got really mad and swerved towards my car as if he was going to hit it. He then reversed and rammed into my car and damaged the entire passenger side of it. I called the police who arrived and the guy instantly approached the officer yelling that it was self defense cuz i supposibly pulled a gun out on him. I gave the officer permission to check my car in which they did and found nothing. The report was taken and the guy was free to leave. I tried to deal with his insurance but they said they wont cover my car because the guy admitted to deliberately hitting my car. I am pressing charges but the detective says he doubts it'll get past the District attorney because it is simply my word against his. Does anyone have any advise or know what i can do about this?

Say you did something wrong, you got scared you would be found out, so you contacted a legal firm for advice and spilled your guts. But, you never get found out. Can the lawyer report you to the police? I was reading murder mystery and it got my enquiring mind spinning! I am pretty sure a priest can't report you, but I wonder about lawyers.

Hi I'm 19 and I just went to www.freedomtofacism.com and watched a movie after I talked to someone at work today, and was told that we are not required to pay income tax. Can anyone prove that one way or another? What about the Supreme court ruling that say that the IRS is illegal and can not require you to pay tax on personal services.

I know this is a long shot but...A few years ago I had a massive collection of CDs and cassettes that I had collected throughout my life. More than 1000. While visiting with my parents someone broke into my home and stole just about everything of value that I had, including my CD/Cassette collection. Almost every last one. Do I have any legal right to download music pre-1999 (when my collection was stolen) due to the fact that I had purchased this music in the past? The only proof I have is a state police report which of course does not detail the names of the individual CDs but does state that the 1000+ collection was stolen.

G-mother died 10 years ago, left handwritten will with my mother as executrix. Atty advised her that if she executed the will, the IRS would force sale of the house to cover her back taxes (the only real property, and her only place to live). She was quite ill, and let it slide.

5 years later she died. I got an attorney, to try to take over administration. She started off strong, but blew me off time and again until I threatened her with the BAR.

Handwritten will leaves 1/3 each to me, my aunt and my mother. Meaning 1/3 + 1/9 to me. My siblings (1/9 each) are refusing to sign papers for me to administer as they do not want the house sold (emotional response). I had to pay for my g-mother's funeral, + I've paid taxes since 1996 + about 25K to restore it to liveable condition, with no one offering to help at all. Apparently my g-mother once said that my sister should get the house when she died, so they're MAD. Neither has helped with any $$ or work EVER.

What can I do?

My ex-wife and I are divorced. I work Full-time. She does not , and receives a SSI check for being bipolar, plus she has child support coming in from me. So anyway she will not have a W-2 form coming this year. She wants her mother and step-grandfather to claim the child , so she can benefit from it. My question is- am I legal to claim my child?

for malpractice if the doctor makes a mistake? If so, what doctors do you think will continue to work in poor communities?

General info - Most public aid patients do not pay, and the doctor get about $15 for 4-5 hours of work. Malpractice insurance goes up every time a doctor is sued and it can be very stressful because in some cases one can sue for more than the insured amount...so the doctor can lose everything to someone s/he volunteered to help.

I am biased due to the number of doctors in my family, so I am curious what the general public thinks.

PS -- Let's assume it's not gross negligence like cutting off the wrong leg or something insane...

I have been summonsed to jury duty. I don't mind, would actually enjoy it. But the timing is off big time. I had been unemployed for 8 months, got layed off through a buy-out. I just got a job at the first of November and don't think jury duty would fit well in my first few months. I love this job and don't want to miss anything about it - and we have a review presentation (I have been working on for weeks!) and have made flight reservations for it. I need to be there. I live in Arkansas - if that helps legally, any advice? Thanks!
