ignore ignorant statements. i know what you mean... we are taking care of them (all day or all night, some cases both) so we are not able to get a job to pay our bills.

to put them in a nursing home is $60,000. to $90,000. per year (depending upon where you live in our country), so thats not an option. besides, no one cares better for them then us.

i know.

your state should have those answers. contact the senior services dept at your state (i dont know what state you are in or i could help look for the info).

"The enactment of the Older Americans Act Amendments of 2000 (Public Law 106-501) established an important new program, the National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP). The program was developed by the Administration on Aging (AoA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It was modeled in large part after successful LTC programs in States such as California, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and after listening to the needs expressed by hundreds of family caregivers in discussions held across the country."

also contact the "Ombudsmans Office" (link is below) for info and where to be pointed to for help.

let me know how you made out :)

Where can I go to get paid to help my mom with my dad? I have lost my job in Sept. 30, 2014. And I'm not able to find a job. And I'm enjoying help my mother she really does not want some stranger to come in to help with my father, she feels that he would be uncomfortable about a stranger.

Medicare does NOT pay a family member to take care of anyone. In fact, even if the family member was a doctor, they couldn't bill Medicare for anything. If you know someone who got paid by Medicare for taking care of a family member, they were committing Medicare fraud and if Medicare finds out, they will be vigorously prosecuted.

Basicly if they can't write you a check for taking care of them, there is hardly any ( if there is any) government agency that would pay you to do that, They expect you to take care of your parents for free and even pay money to pay for someone else.

so you get the paid help from the government to help watch them.

Contact your local Social service office (welfare office). Tell them that you are seeking information on caregiver payments, they should be able to get the application to you and tell you of other resources that may be available to you and your parents.
