i have recently done some work for someone who is pretty
trustworthy and usually pays for my work but on this occasion
i think he feels he has paid me too much in the past and will not
pay me for 4 days work equivalent to approx 1000 pounds.
we don't have any contracts between us and he has paid before.
the only witness i have is his secretary but she would not volunteer obvious against her boss...
the only other person is the client who i did the work for but they have never seen me although they have received my work so if i could justify that i did the work and get the client
to agree they received it could i use this as evience?

or can i force the secretary to court as a witness as i was in the
office on those days?

I was recently caught shoplifting at Dillard's. They didnt press charges or even alert the police. I am 16 years old.

The only thing they did was make me sign a trespass warning, stating that i could never go back to Dillard's, because i was banned.

They asked for my social security number, and i gave them it. Why would they need my social security number, if it wasnt going on my records?

Is any of this going to go on my permanent records for businesses and schools to see?

If someone is Tased and when they fall to the ground the drink they are holding spills and they are laying in it will the electricity from the person be transfered to the liquid and prevent the person from being able to move? This happened to someone I know and as he was laying in the liquid the officer was screaming for him to roll over to him stomach and he was trying but absolutely could not move which resulted in him being tased two more times. And before I get any nasty comments, this was done for a body attachment for failure to show for a bill that he owed. He somehow didn't get the paperwork and didn't even know about it. This was done to him by the local police who have been harrasing him and slandering him in our small town for well over a year because of him taking the assistant cheif to court in a private matter and he(the person who was tased, not the asst. chief) won. There is already a civil lawsuit being filed for all of that and the way the arrest was handled.

Basically they leave the bike unattended in a street corner in an inner city neighborhood, and wait for somebody to steal it, they then pop out of their cars and hiding spots with the usual "PUT YOUR HANDS UP, GET DOWN ON THE GROUND!!" Yata Yata...

It was a nice bike as you an imagine, it didn't take long before it was stolen, they bagged alot of people mostly teens.

Anyway I was wondering, when is a property (I don't mean real estate, I'm talking about an item like a bike or jewelry) considered abandoned? Don't you think that this is like a form of entrapment? I was laughing at the ridiculousness of this sting, I mean if a person is dumb enough to leave their bike unattended, not tied up or nothing, on the street of such a place they deserve to get their bike stolen.

What if, the person yelled out: "whose bike does this belong to? Ok I'm taking it to the police precint's lost property dept." That way they have a good alibi...lol

What do you guys think?

I was taught that an English million was a thousand thousands i.e. 1,000,000, whereas an American million was a hundred thousand, i.e. 100,00. Or it might have been the definition of a billion, actually I can't really remember. But I do know that there was a difference in how the UK and the US defined one of the really big numbers.
Is it true? Or did my teachers lie to me?

I would imagine that is very difficult for them. How would they feel if they succesfully get an aquittal for a person who they feel is guilty, or if they help release them on some technicality like "the fruit of the poison tree" one.

Are they just in it for the money? I would imagine at first they start off very idealistic, but after they gain experience and see what the legal system is like, they just look for rich drug dealer clients. Or insurance companies and stuff. That movie with matt damon comes to mind, and the devils advocate.

What do you guys think?

Cities are banning smoking.....in public places, in bars, etc...say you go to a bar....can't smoke but then you leave. I'd rather drive out ahead of someone that had been smoking than someone sitting there drinking all night. Don't say the medical cost.....alcohol kills also.....both the liver and drunk driving...

I know it's a pretty obvious answer, but how does it affect clubs/bars/pubs? Also what about your local cafe, do they have to be smoke free or can they choose not to be?
Will there be smoking areas in restaurants or are all those banned?
And pubs? do they HAVE to conform or does it only affect pubs that do not serve meals?
Thanks

I've been to plenty of funerals lately and I've come up with an idea...I'd like to purchase a cart (much like a hot dog cart) and offer items such as flowers, potted plants, american flags, sympathy cards, water and other funeral related items to mourners to purchase as they grieve. They can then take these items and leave them at the final resting places! Because it will be a cart, I could wheel it all around the cemetary to the different funerals. I believe there is a HUGE market demographic with this venture...

The leaders of the USA
When bush and his wife had there Christmas they gave a donation to who you may ask ?
It was to Africa. Not to the small children of the USA. Bush has stated that we must free the Iraq people , why I ask because if they wanted to be free they would fight to be free , But what really bothers me is the fact that there religion teaches them that it is good to KILL a Christian. And our young Christian children are dieing for them ( don’t cast your pearls before swine ) all across America property tax has gone up ,Now they raised the property value only to try to tell you that “hey we can tax you even more now”
If you do not pay your tax they take your privet land your home. Why not let you keep it and just put you in jail for a short time (my tax is paid) it seems to me the leaders think the land belongs only to them *that includes your house* illegal’s are protesting in Dallas (farmers branch ) stating the crack down on illegal workers is racist .

I am seeing beautiful comments from my friends on White House's festival of his execution. Someone said that I shud b hanged after him. How nice!! I must salute that friend. Anyway, my point was like this. There have been several such politicians (like saddam and bush), who committed similar crimes of killing innocent people. If u remember idi Amin, Uganda. He liked to shower in the real blood bath (human blood). But, USA did not care about the people of Uganda. Even Idi Amin lived his life after he had deported to some other country and had natural death. It means that people of the rest of the world (except USA) should not evaluate things as projected by USA. If they are humans, people of the rest of the world are also humans. Policy should be uniform for all dictators. If one was acquitted, why would Saddam be convicted?

Well, i saw all comments from my friends. Most of them hav heard wat Americans hav projected now. What USA wer doing that time? In that case how Mr. Bush shud b considered? He is sitting on graves of millions. He made this world on the edge of the sword as never before. & why he digs in Asia? For Oil fields? He projects that terrorism is the terror caused only to Americans & for that he can destroy anything, then pls note that it can b your country 2moro, bcoz it's run by similar politicians. Americans killed a lot of innocent Iraqi people, including children & women. Wasn't that unfair? Americans left behind Iraq to suffer like they r in the stone period. Struggle 4 food, medicine, education, work...everything. At least, Saddam served Iraq & they were able to get all basic needs. & if v tak about the politicians, can anyone guaranty about their own country's politicians. I think very few trusts their own politicians. I think Saddam shud not b hanged.
