Yes, and people will have the choice whether to consume or not and should consume wisely...as it is with alcohol. Alcohol is far more dangerous yet it is legal...
- Drunk driving causes a lot of accidents, High driving causes slow drivers who think they are speeding (the paranoia keeps them driving properly) and is less prone to having an accident (there is a certain Matrix bullet-time thing going on).
- Drunk people will to start a fight for no good reason. High people will just laugh for no good reason.
- People can die of Alcohol poisoning, but in order to die from THC poisoning, one would have to smoke a couple pounds of it and that is impossible.
- If everyone woke up and smoked a joint for breakfast, the world would be such a chill and tranquil place. If everyone got drunk for breakfast, there would be utter chaos.
- And my favorite: Pot makes even the worst cooking taste good because all we want to do is stuff our face with food.
- The best way to resolve a conflict between two people is for them to share a joint. All bitter feelings will be put aside.

Now, I am not saying that we should all stay high...but as it is legal to finish work and go to a bar and have a drink to wind down, it would be nice if it was legal to finish work and have a joint to wind down. Of course, do not go to work or school high...same reason why one shouldn't go drunk...anyway, my point is that it should be legalized but people should know when not to smoke it (as most know when not to get drunk)

Yes.

When compared to other legal drugs, pot seems to be in the category of say...oh...alcohol. Yet, it rarely is cause for deaths while driving, or domestic abuse, or other society woes.

But like alcohol, I think it should be regulated - possession limits, not allowed during work hours, etc.

Liberty is the belief that one should choose to do what they want as long as it doesn't infringe on someone else's rights. I find it difficult to see where smoking a joint infringes on anyone's rights to the level where it needs to be outlawed.

Studies have recently shown that pot doesn't cause many of the ills that it was one alleged to have caused - like lung cancer. We know it serves a role in medicine as several states have validated. And it would generate revenue for government via sales taxes. It would also then fall under FDA guidelines were dosage was controlled.

And it is one of the few sedative drugs that is not addictive.

Legalization would eliminate and reduce the prison populations, lesson crimes indirectly related to the substance, and in general keep society a lot more peaceful.

No, but only because that would take half the fun out of smoking it. For me there is something to be said to be a part of a time honored tradition of breaking the law just like our forefathers. Just look at how long people have been doing it.

Besides the US will never legalize it, without pot they don't have a big enough argument for the War on Drugs, read up on it and you'll find the truth.

Where I'm from...pot is very easilly and cheaply available but it is illegal...
There are as many theories to support the advantages of it as there are disadvantages. Being at the coast...it is quite humid and our own brew of hydrophonics yields an enjoyable but not over the top smoke...
bear in mind that different parts of the plant have different effects and knowing how to separate that and add your own is no more harmfull than enjoying a good cigar...
In the end, the desired result is individualized with more hardcore and naive smokers ending up with long term pyschosis

Yes. I think it is wrong for this country to pick and choose what it thinks is illegal. We can drink alcohol all we want and we can smoke cigarettes, but they choose to make pot illegal. I can get all kinds of really hard core drugs over the counter with a perscription but if I want to pot to help me feel better I have to find a drug dealer. It's not right.

Yes, get it out of the hands of violent criminals, save all that un-taxed money from going to Mexico, let adults make their own choices. Give ppl something better to do than get drunk, alchahol is the cause of alot more problems than pot. Also get all of the ppl in jail for pot related offences out, so the jails aren't so overloaded. Spend all the law enforcement money wasted on busting pot dealers on taking down the crack and meth dealers!

I bet that many of the people who support the legalization of pot would be the same that want to ban cigarettes.

Of course it should. Look at all the "NOs". They are all people that wouldn't smoke it if it was legal and haven't smoked enough to know any better. I hate how hard it is to get. I should be able to go to the liqueur store and get it.
