Should someone who has sex be prepared for the possible consequences, always? (Sex is how babies are made!)

Please answer (1) for a woman and (2) for a man.

Please don't try to guess my views - I'm interested in yours. Thanks.

Legally, a man is responsible for any child created by him, whether the sex was unprotected or not. No ifs, ands or buts!!!

But he doesn't have to carry it around in him for nine months either! We're not seahorses!

Biology ensures that any efforts to put men and women on
the exact same position with respect to sex and children will probably fail.

I don't have all the answers. But no woman has had an abortion because of me. I can only control my own actions, not those of others.

Of course. I take all the precautions I can when having sex. I am not ready for a child. Nor is my wife. But, if it happens we will have to be ready.

I could never abort a baby if all was well: If my wife was going to die. We have discussed this. And we would abort the baby and try to adopt or if the doctors think it is ok try again.

I can see a few issues where abortion is ok: rape, incest, health issues. But, at the same time. If the adoption and/or foster programs had enough money and staffing we could let the babies go there. It is sad the amount of money it costs to adopt a baby. These are non-profit organizations which are funded by the govt with my tax dollars. Why if they get 6.5 Million dollar contract for the year does it cost so much to adopt a baby. Shouldn't the price be less to help out the system.

Thanks

Having unprotected sex has so many consequences, and getting pregnant is probably the least of them.

1. Abortion should never be an alternative for an unwanted pregnancy, but that is the choice of the woman, I don't support it, and it's not my sin, and this isn't the issue here. But the lifetime that follows most women after an abortion is usually riddled with depression or an unhealthy attitude in relationships;

2. STD's are mostly curable or controllable, but embarrassing;

3. AIDS is fatal.

If I have consensual, unprotected sex and I get pregnant, its both our faults, but mostly mine, but both our responsibility. BUT, If I have consensual, unprotected sex and I get a fatal or incurable STD, its both our faults, but I die and/or have to live a lifetime of illness..... so its MY responsibility.

Ultimately every man/woman should be responsible for their own body, and with that the protection they choose when having sex, thus responsible for the consequences that may arise.

Yes, there us no reason why a baby should result from consensual sex. Life is about barring consequences. The innocent child should not suffer because of his parents lack on control.

(1) I think that when two people have sex they should be aware of having a baby and if this happens I think that both of them should accept the child and take full responsibility instead of having an abortion because it is not good for your health. Leave the abortion process for those people who are sexually abused.

I would change it to read "unprotected sex". Not only can a baby result, but STD's and aids. Both parties are responsible.

(1) One has to take responsibility for ones actions and face the consequences, abortion is only an option for victims of rape or incest.

1-abortion should not be used as birth control. There are times when it should be used as in rape or medical reasons.

If this is a legal question, it depends where you are. Different places have different statutes. If it's a moral question, then personal ethics should prevail. Who doesn't like sex?
