It depends on what county you live in. I live in Northern CA, and the wages differ from urban to rural areas. Your best bet is to look at the County website for the county you're talking about, then go through their Employment Opportunity section.. see if they're hiring PO's... the job listing will show the hourly wage range for the level of PO being hired. If you're talking about the Chief Probation Officer in any given county, that's all public record... you can find the info online, as well.
