call the store and see what they request.
Some stores will allow you to pay it off at the store level.
some stores will require you take care of it via court
Of course there will be bank fees assoociated with it so ask the holder NOT to rerun the check thru the bank...be prepared to pay bad check fees to your bank and to the merchant
