I personally know some people who had botched plastic surgery and none of them can sue their surgeons (not famous - just normal people). No lawyer will take the case. So, then I think - well look at Hollywood... Michael Jackson is an extreme case who probably wanted to look the way he does, but I am sure meg ryan, did not. Tara reid openly talks about her botched breast aug, yet she never sued her first doctor. I can't help but think - why aren't they suing over whatever they did to her... NOR revealing the docs name?? and why is it so hard to sue a plastic surgeon? I know someone who had a big nose 10 yrs ago and went though 4 corrective operations just so she could breathe again after the first doctor destroyed her nose (he was never sued & the others who tried to fix it did their best in a bad situation). i know dozens of other people who had bad lipo, breast aug, etc... but the surgeon is like free to do whatever he wants unless the patient dies basically.

before you counter argue that it was their choice to have the operation and accept the risks...think about that statement. If that excuse were true, then every plastic surgeon could get away with butchering every patient...and if a doctor is a doctor - what happened to "do no harm" ?

Also, I know "good results" are superficial - but there is a degree of objectivity when someone's nose is hanging off their face.

because plastic surgoens have a sick level control over their patients because they know that no lawyer will take their cases cuz juries will be totally unsympathetic to them.

I had implants and lipo done on my arms. Both turned out terrible. Lawyers would take my case if I could find a doctor to say the surgeon messed up. I went to two other surgeons for a second opinion and both surgeons knew my surgeon and would say he messed up. They both agreed however, they would have done it differently. The outcome of my surgery has caused me to be depressed. I have put on weight and can't even look in a mirror. I am looking into representing myself cause no lawyer has the balls to take this case. I can go to the surgeon's website and tell everyone what a bad job he has done. People should not be forced into signing any waivers. If the surgeon can't do the job, well, maybe he is in the wrong business. It's a shame that they are able to make all that money and not have to answer to anyone if they mess you up. Where are my rights?

I would assume they sign away the right to sue and take the risk giving the Dr's no liability. The results of and given surgery are unpredictable (to a point) as we all respond differently. Maybe they've covered their butts due to this lack of predictability.

Maybe they sign something before the surgery. I know here in Australia, no matter what the surgery, we have to sign a waiver before surgery, stating we know the 'whatever' dangers etc and waiver any responsibilities. I'm guessing the same rule applies in the US.
Maybe the 'scary' faces don't know they are scary.

all of those waivers that they sign before the procedure...there is no way. Hell I had to sign my life away to get a damn flu shot...
I am sure the legal waiver for plastic surgery is 4 or five pages long

Bad plastic surgery in Hollywood is just a publicity stunt. These people have it done on purpose so that they will stay in the news.

Because if they did, they would have to admit they had plastic surgery.
