Back in the third grade, my teacher pushed me and I almost fell to the floor. This happened over 10 years ago, but I told my friend about it recently and she said I can't do anything now, but back then I should have told my parents. I don't know why I didn't, I was really scared of her. Everyone in the class liked her and I'm not trying to be racist, but she liked all the caucasions and chinese students and did NOT like any of the Indian students. She favoured the caucasions and chinese and whenever there was a fight, the Indian student would get in trouble even if it was the other person's fault. My (Indian) friend told me that she thought she was a racist towards Indians. Obviously I'm not going to do anything about it now, it happened SO long ago, but back then, was there even something I COULD have done at the age of 8? I'm just wondering.

You should have told your parents.
I understand though, because at that age, when you're afraid of someone, it doesn't occur to you to tell anyone, especially if they are an authority figure in your life.
The only thing you can do now is make sure that your children know that if something like this happens to them, they should tell you.

I'm willing to bet that your first sentence is the only thing you actually remember about the incident. The rest just reinterpreting things though negative spin after recent stories. That said, you probably didn't tell you parents a the time because there was nothing to tell.

There really isn't anything you could have done. There are bad teachers who rough up kids. Living well is the best revenge!

I suppose you could have mentioned it to your parents. Why are you so concerned about it after all this time?
