I just read that he's supposed to be getting hung by this Sunday...I'm just confused 'cause i thought that we didn't use hanging as a form of execution anymore.

Are we just making an exception for him???

NBC, ABC, CNN and the Associated Press website are all reporting that Saddam will be hung prior to the start of the Eid Islamic Holiday which begins in the Middle East on Sunday. Saddam was not tried according to US law and is being handed over to Iraqi authorities as this was the law he was tried under. Hanging the method used for execution in Iraq, thus the sentence of death by hanging. Hope this answers your questions.

No. If Saddam is hung, there'll be an inevitable threat of Saddam being retrospectively perceived as a martyr. which will validate the interior conflicts of many average muslims interior the middle East, and could radicalise them. Plus, the Sunni's are in sufficient sh!t as we talk.

Well, he was tried in Iraq, by an Iraqi court, which represents the PEOPLE of Iraq.
In my opinion, the US should be doing hangings, every Saturday Morning at the local mall. We really should stop worrying about the rest of the world for a while, and get our own house in order. I had two of neighbors, gunned down when they returned from shopping a few weeks ago. When they catch the guys that did it, I would volunteer to put the noose around their necks, and I would smack the horse on the *** to get them swinging! After we silence the Islamic radicals, lets clean up our house!

He's not being hung by us, he's being hanged by the Government Of Iraq, for crimes done to the Iraqi people. I have a gut hunch that he's going to the gallows sometime between now and Monday.

I understood it to be that he would be hung with in thirty days. We (USA) do not use this method of execution anymore, but he was tried in an Iraqi court.

We?

It's not about the US.

It's an Iraqi court with an Iraqi judge with an Iraqi jury. They can hang him if they want. They aren't held to our laws.

Besides I think hanging is still allowed in Texas anyway.
