I don't want the medical studies from the United States Government, I already know it is bogus. So, for further depth, I want to know why we in the United States are not allowed to smoke Marijuana, when it's obvious, that the other legal drugs in this country (tobacco and alcohol) are proven to take millions of lives every year. If and when there is not viable proof that marijuana takes more lives.

My daughter's father abandoned us when I was pregnant 9 years ago. He has known how to contact us all of this time yet he never has. I filed for child support many times but the case kept getting closed because he was unlocatable (dispite have his SS#.) Now I am have no choice but to be on welfare as I am disabled. Child support just notified me that he was found about 3000 miles away. I never received a penny from him, never a birthday card or any contact from him. Who really thinks that this is in the best interest of my child to have this man found and have him establish paternity? If I had abandoned my child in this manner I would lose all rights to her. As it stands now this man has no rights to her at all because the state where I live does not give rights unless paternity has been established (PA.) With my being disabled my health is not at its best, so if I should die then this man would be entitled to raise my child. What can I do to prevent this from happening????

I mean Cmon i have viewed pictures of aborted fetus (as everyone should) and come to realize how much of a sick practice it is. Even with early term abortions it is obvious that it is a just a little innocent human! People who advocate abortion should really look into it more. I once thought that a womans right to choose was the "the way" and agreed that it was a civil rights issue...after educating myself i realize now how brainwashed I had become. To advocate this sick practice disgusts me. What do you think?

Have the laws changed? Years ago, like 20 or 30 yrs ago, wasn't a Certificate of Attendance acceptable as far as looking for a job? There are some older people that have good jobs today (in small towns $8. to $9. is great) that never received a full Diploma, if they won't hire you now without a full Diploma, shouldn't they fire the people that don't have Diploma's that already work there? Wouldn't it be considered as descrimination not to hire someone because of that now? Is there a law or case that has won in court that could be used as an example?

My step-daughter (boyfriend's daughter) has 2 kids with a woman who constantly leaves the kids at people's houses, including people she barely knows, leaves for days just to go out partying. She has had unstable housing by staying here and there at peoples houses. The kids have been in 6-10 different schools just these 2 recent school years. Why doesnt the school system look at this issue? She has had the people she left the kids with take them to the police station to only give the kids to their mother when she arrived with no questions asked. She has had DCFS called on her so many times by different people on each incident and there is still no action against her. My boyfriend has tried to take them away from her to only get a response from the judge "You want them only so you dont have to pay child support".. He will not listen to my boyfriend's side of the story. I am wondering if I can do something but I dont know what I can do. Someone please give me some advice.. Thank you

During the recent "debate" in Congress any number of Republicans stated that they were "defending" marriage. I don't see how preventing homosexuals from having the same rights given heterosexuals "defends" or "protects" marriage. Are current rights and obligations of married people towards each other going to change if gays get married? Are the current benefits married couples received going to be reduced if gays get married?

One justification given is that marriage is the best way of raising children and that "procreation" needs to be protected. Both of these seem to be non-sequiters. If marriage is best for children, then it should be expanded so that the hundreds of thousands of children being raised by their gay or lesbian parents can have a two-parent household. "Procreation" seem to be way off the mark, first no state has ever limited marriage to persons who intended to or even were capable of procreation. Its the one procreating without marriage that are the problem.

How does the law compute the dollar amount awarded in a civil suit ? What can be attached to meet the amount awarded, i.e. tax return,SS,home, land...etc. Is there anything that cannot be accounted for and if so what and why? In relations to a civil suit how does the court of appeals work in regards this type of suit? Are there any websites or good legal online referrence info further on this subject that you recommend? Any reccomendations for a North East Florida Civil attorney s for a civil case of damages for 2 minor children sexually abused by father, stepfather time period 5 years. No there has not been a trial or arrest of this child molester Thank you in advance for your knowledge and feedback :-)

they are taking away parental rights from the father at the end of the month. My nephew is living with his grandmother who is well into her late 50's with his 5 year old brother (he is only 2) The mother refuses to cooperate with children services and they will be taking away her rights as well pretty soon. Like i said the grandmother lives alone with the two babies and works alot as well. I live in another state and cant stand the thought of my baby nephew getting lost in the system, I want to raise him as my own along with my two children. I am not blood related to his brother however so i cant get him this i have been told. What do i do?

Recently got a ticket while stationary in car in Washington DC, actually waiting to pull into gaurd gates at the Capital. I answered my cell phone, while being approached by a Capital Police officer. I immediatly told the caller "I'll call you back". It was Literally a 4 second phone call.
The Officer ordered me out of my vehicle and told me to stand against a wall, which I complied. After standing against a wall for many minutes I asked the officer, "Excuse me, what did I do?" For which he responded, "you disrespected me!"

He then gave me a $100 ticket.

I must write a letter of defense to the 'Hearings by mail" department to have this cleared up.

But what to do and say? This is just so horribly abuseful and wrong.

Thanks!!!!

I had a checking account at a bank and my friends kids were listed as Payble On Death. The account overdrew some $800 and they charged it off. It was due to fraud and I'm still fighting it. My friends took their kids there to open an account and they were listed as co-owners of the account. I signed them up as POD not as joint owners. The bank siezed their sons money and was going to do the same to the daughter but they caught it in time. They were told they had to file a police report against me for Identity Theft. I didn't steal anything. They were listed as payable on death not joint owners. Can they legally do this? Change the childrens status on the account and seize thier money. We are going there tomorrow to try and straighten things out. Should I bring a lawyer? Help I'm really stressed about this!
