I mean Cmon i have viewed pictures of aborted fetus (as everyone should) and come to realize how much of a sick practice it is. Even with early term abortions it is obvious that it is a just a little innocent human! People who advocate abortion should really look into it more. I once thought that a womans right to choose was the "the way" and agreed that it was a civil rights issue...after educating myself i realize now how brainwashed I had become. To advocate this sick practice disgusts me. What do you think?

yeah, but answer this....if a woman was raped, should she be forced to give birth to the child of her rapist and have that constant reminder? that is the truly sick thing in this situation. and even if it was just a highschool girl who did an irresponsible thing.....why ruin her life AND the life of her unborn child?? i am totally and completely prochoice, and believe that abortion should absolutely be legalized.

first of all, abortion is NOT sick practice. it is necessary in some cases.

its every girl's has a dream to be a mother at some point of their lives. When a woman gets her child aborted u should unerstand that she is doing it under absolute compulsion. she loves the little thing growing inside her more than any of here screaming and shouting for or against it. one should respect the decision of he mother... she knows what time of birth would give her baby a better and secued life.

Apart from rape victims, sometimes there are defects in the foetus.. so there are chances that the child will be born with lifelng disablities.. do u think bringing it to the world is a good idea? i dont think so.. in other cases underaged pregnancy can put the lives of both the mother and the child on the line. If a girl is pushed to pregnancy at the age of 14, she will fail to be a good mother.. and the child will be malnutritioned and ill-healthed. that will invite long-term complexities.

this doesnt mean that i support abortion to be the measure of birth control... proper sex education, and use of contraceptive can reduce the risk of unplanned pregnancy.. and that is THE right way. Abortion should be available when it is absolutely necessary.. but a woman should remember that it involves severe health hazards and mental trauma.

I certainly don't think it should be used as a form of birth control. But I think in some cases it is necessary to have an abortion.
What about a rape victim??............ why should she have to feel like she is doing wrong aborting a baby she concieved through pain, violence and humiliation.......... and then go through the feelings all over again because abortion is illegal?

Health of mother and child??................. A mother is told that her baby stands no chance of survival or the mother will die if she gives birth. Again, having to chose between legalities or your health should not be an issue here.

I don't believe a woman who has abortions because she became pregnant and decides she doesn't want it should be allowed, however there are also many genuine reasons why abortion could be the right solution.
Making it illegal only adds to the pain and heartache caused by having to make the choice. It is one of the most terrible decisions in the world to have to make.

Abortion has been a fact of life for millenia. Women have, from time to time, chosen to end their pregancies for a variety of reasons: physical inability to carry a child to term, emotional distress, and many more. Abortions did not begin with Roe v. Wade: only legal and safe abortions did. Women are no longer forced to use black-market "doctors" or more grotesque methods (wire hangers, etc.) to end their pregnancies.

It is an unfortunate fact of life that some unborn children will die before they are born. However, the legality of abortion in American will have very effect on this fact. The best we can do is ensure that abortion is "safe, legal, and rare."

All efforts should be made by society to give women alternatives to abortion. However, to prohibit doctors from carrying out such procedures would drive many women back into the dark alleys, endangering their lives as well as any present or future children she may have. An outright ban on aborition would not dramatically reduce the number of aborted pregnancies, but it would dramatically increase the number of women harmed or even killed by unsafe abortion procedures.

Abortion is wrong. I am so glad that you have seen the light in this issue. But I admit, it is a very sticky issue. The only time I think that it "may" be necessary, is when both the life of the child and the mother are at risk of death. But it is not an easy issue. Nor, do I think, will it ever be. Sigh. It is so sad.

Unfortunately, there are many women who use abortion as birth control. I do not believe that should be allowed. I do believe, as the woman above said, that if someone is raped, they should be allowed an abortion. Rape or molestation is not a woman or girl's fault. If someone gets pregnant from irresponsiblity or carelessness, then they have to deal with the consequences. But, as the aftermath of a violent act or crime against someone, abortion should be allowed.

I personally think you are a neo-fascist who wants to tell other people not to do things merely because you are "disgusted".

Me, I think everyone, including women, have the right to determine what goes on with his or her body. Only the person whose life is affected should make the decision what to do with it. Not me, not you, and certainly not the government. If a woman decides that the medical risk of carrying a fetus to term is greater than the risk of aborting it, (which it is) it is her decision whether to run that additional risk.

It really is a sick sick sick sick . One should take precaution when they don't want a baby, but once the baby has come they have no right to abort them. Its very rude and inhuman. How can someone even think about it. They should take the responsibility of that child. People don't think about this when they are enjoying. Since we cannot give life to a dead person we have no rights to take there life ether. New life is gift of god, we have to except it happily. Its like killing your family member.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!to your first and yes to your second, but only in cases of rape and incest and or imminent danger to the mother, and only after counseling and careful consideration for all involved. To me it goes agains the code of ethics especially the ones doctors take.

To use abortion as a form of birth control is wrong, I am all for choice, there is the shot, the pill, the patch, IUD's foam, creams condoms, abstinence, and even more types of birth control out there, women need to be smart and pick one if they want to have sex. The thing is, is that women have been taught that it's their right by a bunch of men all in the name of womens rights, when in fact to me all it does is show how really stupid they are by not making wise choices and planning. Grow up and be a woman to be proud of and show your smarts. I agree with you 100%

Two part question, both parts very emotional issues.

For number one, try condoms, a diaphragm, the sponge, birth control pills, and if all else fails, abstinence.

For number two, NEVER in normal cases. In the case of rape, incest or serious health issues, ONLY with serious counseling or medical necessity and ONLY if adoption is not an option.
