How does the law compute the dollar amount awarded in a civil suit ? What can be attached to meet the amount awarded, i.e. tax return,SS,home, land...etc. Is there anything that cannot be accounted for and if so what and why? In relations to a civil suit how does the court of appeals work in regards this type of suit? Are there any websites or good legal online referrence info further on this subject that you recommend? Any reccomendations for a North East Florida Civil attorney s for a civil case of damages for 2 minor children sexually abused by father, stepfather time period 5 years. Damages (money awards) must be certain and calculable, not speculative.

There are different types of damages: expectation (based on contract agreements), compensatory (based on cost to fix a problem or loss in value of something), reliance (out-of-pocket expenses because of what happened), consequential (out-of-pocket expenses because of what happened after that), etc.

Each type of damages are calculated using a different formula. As far as enforcement, that is up to the court (judge) to determine.

well the judge hears both sides of the case, hears evidence, testimony, determines the facts n then applies the laws to those facts. As a result, finally comes to a conclusion how much the D owes the P based on documentation of estimates, or damages done to the other party.
