I just got home from being out of town for the weekend. I have a small tank with 4 fish a tetra, molly, platty and one other im not sure what kind. Usually when I leave I put a feeder in the bottom of the tank, its like a gel that puts food in the water i guess. Well I just got home and the platty was upside down gasping and the tatra is jumping around the molly is just laying on the bottom of the tank and the other one is moving really slow and has white fuzz on his face. They have a water fiter that pumps oxygen into the water as it cleans. What can I do now???

As most of you know, I have a 30 gallon tank that I started and when it finishes cycling, I want to add these fish to the tank:

-3 Angelfish
-4 Albino Cory Cats (I heard they should be in groups of 4)

Am I overcrowding? And if I'm not, what else can I add?

We got 1 molly a few years ago, she was apparently pregnant because we soon had more molly's. I think she is a molly, she is bright orange with black fins.

Fast forward now to the present, all we have in our tank is molly's currently, our poor little neons died ages ago.

We have a good number of molly's and they keep on breeding. I have noted that we seem to be having some genetic problems (possibly due to inbreeding?). We are getting some really light orange molly's and some that are almost entirely black. We have also had some of the molly's born with weak fins? This only seems to happen on one side, they look kinda like Nemo.

Anyway we would like them to stop breeding so much! Is there a way to do this? We don't want to just flush them, and we don't seem to have a Pet Store locally that will take them. Petsmart and Petco are pretty much the only ones in the area that carry fish. Smaller Pet Stores don't seem to carry fish in this area.

I had just finished cycling my 3 gallon tank and put my African Dwarf Frog in and left him in there for about 2 days, and now I just added one of my Male crowntail bettas with him.Usually my frog just chills in his little cave all day, but when I added the betta, he keeps on going in the cave and starts nipping at the poor froggy, iv'e been having to fend off the betta with the blunt end of a chickabob stick, but the betta just won't leave my poor froggy alone! Any suggestions on how I can calm down the betta? I don't want to have to go out and buy another tank....

A few weeks ago my beta fish was floating on the top of his tank. I thought he was dead and went to open the lid and he was alive it was quite a shocker. Anyway, when ever I see him he is floating but when I open the tank to feed him he swims around the tank. I watched him for a while and noticed that it is when he is idle that he starts to float up, left side up always. I know he is 2-1/2 years old but 3 months ago I bought a frog and put him in the tank with the beta. The beta and frog actually get along and do not bother one another, which is great. I don't know if anyone out there knows what maybe wrong with him. Thank you!

Hey,
I have six guppies in my tank and I bouth my fancy female guppy already pregnant. I bought one of those floating tanks for her to have her babies in with a divider to protect them from her and other fish.
The only problem is, I don't know when she's pregnant enough to be put in there. I don't want to put her in to early and run the risk of stressing her out and having her abort the fry. I know it isn't easy to tell when they will give birth within the next two days or so, but if someone has good tips, could they please help me?
Thanks.

From my question asked a few days ago, I have decided that I really need to have a marine quarantine tank. Would the following equpment be suitable - 60 litre tank (the largest fish would be a yellow tang), a small internal filter (would be running in the main tank until needed), A small heater, Small rock and light. Would I need any different equpment, and would I need anything else?

My bala shark seems to be really frightened of a slightly larger puffer fish in the same tank, the bala is really jumpy and swims against the glass when the puffer gets near it. Should I get rid of my puffer or my bala or neither, should I leave it alone? What should i do?

We have a 30 gallon tank we put our one 11" koi (nose to end of tail) and our fat little fantail (maybe 4") in from the fish pond since winter is upon us. We brought in just two oxygenators and we got a pump and biofilter for a 40 gallon tank, because they recommended that. We feed them about one tablespoon of feed a day and we put in four snails front the store and two terracotta pots from the pond (they wanted shelter). The water became very cloudy and we found that the filter has fouled just days after setting it all up. We replaced the filter and changed out 1/2 the water. We found high ammonia then, so we added something to control that and we have tried the water clarifier and the bio booster - the water still clouds. The new filter seems to be working OK and we have it running full-on all the time....it has been two weeks now and we keep changing 1/3rd of the water every few days trying to clear it - what is wrong? Could 1T still be too much food? They are indoors.
