our foxtail keeps hiding behind the rocks and he begins to change from dark brown to pale yellow then he turns normal again. is it like camo or something?

Does anyone have experience with BTAs? Bubble Tip Anemonies are my favorites, so I got one but I didn't know that they should be colored and the one I got is bleached, according to what I read online. According to sites, he's starving to death. I feed phytoplankton daily/bi-daily, and I tried silversides, krill pieces and he did eat the first batch of mysis shrimp, but is tossing everything else out that I give him since. It's been about five days since he had some shrimp. Do you think he's still starving? Can someone please give me some tips? I have had freshwater aquariums for over 30 years and I am an avid aquarist, but am newer to saltwater/reef systems.
My BTA is in a 30 gallon, lots of live rock, live sand, soft corals, mushrooms, and contains 4 clownfsh (2 mated pair who get along) and one Royal Gramma, 2 hermit crabs and a peppermint shrimp and one coral banded shrimp. Skimmer, UV Filter, 2 power heads, 2 bio filters.

Currently the tank is heavily planted with 8 neon tetras, and 3 guppies. I"m thinking of either finishing the tank off with more neon tetras, or should I get a small school of rasboras to finish off the tank? What would look better?

Im probrably going to buy a 125 gallon aquarium for my 16 inch arowana ino ino its not for permanant but 2 to 2 1/2 years but it includes a protien skimmer will i need a protien skimmer for arowana and what does it really do because i hasd a successful salltwater without a ps

i recnely added a few to many new fish and now in my saltwater tank its clouldy water i think its goin thourgh a mini-cycle i cant seems to lower the nitrite and amminonia i change the water now every other day is there anthing else i can do also the fish seem to be breathing harder and getting a smell from it what else i can i do but how much water changes it too much b4 i kill my fish and mess up everything i change about five gallons every change what can i do

My tank has one of those built in tops which houses the light and there are two 12v outputs within it, only one of which is being used. I was wondering if there were any heaters out there that instead of using it's own power source, i could just plug into the one already on my tank...

i recently found out that i can keep a demonasi cichlid in a 10 gallon but i was wondering if i could keep another READILY AVAILABLE DWARF CICHLID that doesent cost 30 bucks! that means no rams or kribs or appostagomus(srry not a cichlid person...yet!)

I have heard that a male betta will start making a bubble nest if he has a female betta on the other side of a divider that he can see, but why is he building his nest in his little 2.5 gallon?
I have never had a female and he has never seen one in my house, so why build the nest? It doesn't really bother me, I'm just kinda wondering.

I just installed a new protien skimmer about a week ago. Its been running just fine. I added some chemicals to my tank and all of the sudden the skimmer is overflowing even on its lowest setting. Are the two related? Whats going on?

My betta has been acting funny lately. He hangs out at the bottom of the tank most of the time and almost looks dead but he still swims around like normal every once in a while. I haven't fed him for the past 2 days because I thought his problem could be due to over feeding. Sometimes he runs into the things in his tank and sort of rubs up against it. He has no signs of fin rot and his scales look fine. Why is he acting this way?

after 7 years of the same fish tank every fish inn it has finally died exept a couple of ghost shrimp and a loach if i still want to keep the tank going but cant buy new fish for a month what should i do to make the gravle still make the good bacteria ive heard to just keep puting fish food in it even though there ar no fish but i think that may be a rumor so what should i do?

Recently, me and my boyfriend restocked our 55 gal. african cichlid tank ( all but three of our fish [ clown knife fish, auratus, jewel cichlid ] died because our radiator was broken and blasting out heat while we were out... poor things, that plus the tank heater made the water like bathwater. ).

However, we bought a livingstonii cichlid, two long finned gray cichlids ( i'm unsure of their precise name ), & a 10 tiny baby cichlids - two auratus, two albino, a yellow lab, an electric yellow, two blue, two orange, & a loach.

But now, after about 4 days - out of our new fish - we can only find the two grays, the baby auratuses,the livingstonii, and the loach. I'm wondering if the knife fish ate the others. When the tank was originally stocked, it never left it's cave, except to eat and swim briefly to the surface.

So, is it the knife fish? He's the only fish I have with a mouth big enough to eat them, and I would like to know before I acquire some more babies from a friend.

hi my convict pair recently had babies and they got to prbly a week old and i woke up this mornign and they were gone and before the female was always in the cave with them and just yesterday they venture dout of the cave and the female wouldnt let the male come into like a 4 inch radius of the cave the whole week and when i woke up they were gone and the male was like swimming all vigourous and the female wa sout of the cave her color faded and she looked sad:S

I have two goldfish that I previously thought were both male, and if not that I at least assumed they were too young to breed (I only got the second one in October, though I don't know how old it was before that). But yesterday I discovered a handful of tiny transparent fish swimming around in the fishtank.

If they aren't baby goldfish I don't know what they could be or where they could have come from. The thing is fantail goldfish are plump and short with a fancy tail, but the baby fish were elongated, though otherwise hard to make out.

I also found little white spheres on one of the plants in the far corner of the tank.

So just to verify, could someone show or describe to me what goldfish eggs and newborn fantail goldfish would look like?
