it doesn't happen with every brand, just the flakes. he use to love them, and we have always feed him the same amount. why isn't he eating this now?

It's colder weather. Fish will eat mor in the heat of summer, but they shutdown a bit in summer. We have a water turtle and goldfish. I only feed once to twice a week during the winter, but sometimes twice a day in the summer. (Live in San Francisco area, so it's not even THAT cold)

He has probably outgrown the flake food. Stick to what he likes and try feeding him alittle less

Don't give him as much of the flakes . Maybe he likes something else better.

your over feeding the fish . fish tend to stay at the bottom when they are full if he was hungury he would be swimming around like he was screaching for food

Maybe it doesn't like the food no more I would get another food what kind of food is it and what kind of fish

The water conditions or temperature changed,test for ammonia,nitrites and especially nitrates.

he's problem dead, in a while you'll start to see him float to the top of the tank, or it has ICK, from not being in a unclean environment, try using MELAFIX & 50% water change to make your fish better, they sell MELAFIX at petsmart
