My sucker fish (algae eater) is really aggressive towards my other fish ( goldfsh). Every time they come down to pick at the rocks he goes wild and chases them plus it looks like he nips at them. I don't want to kill him because he has gorgeous coloring plus it mean. Is there any way I can fix the problem?

Hi, I have been keeping a gold fish for 2 years.About 1 week ago, a black halo has appeared around its mouth and distal of its fins & tail, which is progressing proximally, destructing its beautiful long tail! :(
Actually I have bought him from a merchant by the street and he got sick in the beginning , but I gave him some tetracycline powder & he recovered! Actually I'm a medical student and I think its current illness resembles fungal diseases, but now I love him so much that I can't just try another human drug by chance and without consultations, pleeeeease help me... is nystatin safe?! and do you think it's all my fault eradicating its normal flora by that tetracyclin?! :(

My local PetSmart has a 36 inch long, 65 gallon set-up by this company and I am considering buying it. However, I am wondering if the stand is strong enough to support such a large, heavy tank for the long term. Do you have any experience with such a stand? It does not appear to be made of solid wood, has a 'heavy duty' laminate. The company's website did not offer many details. Thanks!

I split a frozen cube in half and drop it into the tank. It floats for a few seconds, then sinks. My betta eats some of it, but most of it drops down, is not eaten and messes the tank. After a few days of this, the tank is smelling something fierce. I started out with pellets and he hated them. He kept spitting them out. I thought that maybe they were too big for him, so I split them in half. Still he'd only touch them if he *really* hungry.

So, just wondering if you know of a better way to feed him the frozen brine without messing up the tank too much. And, how much should I be feedig him and how times per day. How often should I be cleaning the fish tank when feeding this messy brine?

Thanks.

I tried to change parcial water(about 10G) every 2 days to keep water clean. However, hair-like algea grows on leaves. here and there..
15 Ghost shurimps, 1 mid size pleco and 3 algea eaters have already been in my tank.

Hello, I have a Betta fish that I at first tried to feed tropical flakes and pellets. After about a week I decided to stop, I stopped trying to feed him these because he never ate anything. I decided to switch to bloodworms. Luckily he loved these. Now that he realized that I could be trusted to feed him, he was more open to flakes. As a little experiment yesterday I fed him one single flake. He scarfed it down. Now I am wondering how and what I should feed him. I got rid of the pellets, so now I need how much and how often I should feed flakes and bloodworms. Please help me out on this one, I don't want to overfeed or make a bad combo and make him constipated or something. Thanks in advance for all answers.

Hi,

I am planning on re-setting my tank and re-cycling it. I am planning on keeping 6 Phatom Tetras and 4 Kuhli Loaches. I need some sort of centerpiece fish. What do you think would be the best centerpiece fish.
