Absolutely not! The African Rift Lake Cichlids will die of a disease called Malawi Bloat if fed a meaty diet. Black-belt Cichlids from Central America are vegetarians,and others are Insectivorous. Cichlid feeding has to be on a case by case basis. Some will eat anything that hits the water.

It depends what kind of cichlid you have,some from lake Malawi are mostly herbivores and should be fed lots of spirulina while other do best with a more meaty diet like brine shrimp,krill and cichlid pellets.You should not feed any cichlids meat from animals like a human would eat.
