Arowanas, giant gouramis, and oscars need aquaria that are closer to the size of ponds than fish tanks. A good way to estimate the size of the tank needed is that the smallest dimension should be at least as much as the length of the fish in it (so it can turn around easily). "Messy" fish that produce a lot of wastes, and those that are active swimmers may require even more room and additional filtration.

The oscar (14 inches as an adult) can probably survive best in the smallest tank of the three types of fish you mention (and it should have a 75-90 gallon tank at a minimum). To give you an idea of size, a 75 gallon would measure 48 in x 18 in x 21 in. Your tank would only be 36 in x 18 in x 18 in. That might be okay for the fish for a while, but you'll eventually need something larger.

Giant gourami can grow to over 2 feet, and should have a tank of around 180 gallons (minimum). Silver arowanas gat to be almost 4 feet, so this would almost mean a custom-built tank to have adequate room.

Unless you're sure you can do this upgrade, it might be better to choose a fish that can fit comfortably in the size of tank you can provide.
