Also, how long will it be before I can identify the baby snail in my tank?

And how long does it take for a cherry shrimp to reach full size?

cories and tetras grow to by about an 1.5 in max. depending on your tank. i would say 6 to 9 months. the snail probably will be sucked up by the filter.

Growth rates are highly dependent on things like temperature, food quality, water quality, and age.
People who grow fish for the market(where growth rate = dollars) seem to concentrate on water quality (lots of water changes, some every day),diet (including live foods, plant and animal),temperatures in the mid-range,and 2 or 3 small feedings daily.
As to the shrimp,it's nutrition needs may be very different than the fishes, because it molts its shells as it grows, and therefore probably needs some mineral supplements in it's diet.
Usually one is able to identify ones snails just after they over-populate the tank.
