Fish - November 2007

Well I have 2 fish, they're like Big Exotic goldfish. Well, anyways, I have other fish too but this question is about them 2. Before, they were inseperable but in a romantic way. They even used to kiss haha. Well anyway, now I notice that the male is acting aggressive. He's chasing her around and won't let her go where she wants, and he won't let her eat. Is this mating? Or what should I do?

I am planning to setup an 2 gallon fish tank on my desk at office, i am not sure which fish is best suited for office.

I am looking for some fish which are active and cute. i have read about betta but feel they are little dull.

My betta fish has a hole in its body and he is still alive. He is slowly dying and I can't sleep well tonight knowing that he is like that. I know that clove oil knowcks them out, but I do not have any at the moment. What about olive oil? Answers fast please!!!

He has just got it recently and it seems as though it literally "happened over night". His belly is very prominent and bloated. When you look at him front on, it's huge.

I just purchased a fish tank from a pet store and it comes with a hood but the lights are dull yellow light, can i put 15w flourescent lights that shine as if they were 60w or that to bright?

......where you could see if your tank is overcrowded. I know Magicman (when he was active) gave Lilyounglady12 (aka HBK,Y2J, & Jeff Hardy 4 Life!). I can't get to her Questions because her account has been deleted because she was inactive. I know he gave her a site where you could enter the measurements of your tank, then type what fish you would want to put in it. And then there was another one like that one, but you could choose what REAL fish (not Fish Tycoon or Insaniqarium) you could put in the tank (almost like a virtual fish tank online thing). All I know is that it's link ended in co.uk. ITS NOT FISH TYCOON OR INSANIQARIUM. I pick the answer that gives me the website/s I'm looking for. Thanks!

my tank is becoming overwhelmed by copepods.they came with my live rock and seem to love my 0-0-0 8.3 ph tank any easy or not so easy ways to thin em out a bit without hurting my other inverts..water changes help but they come right back and are getting out of control.I keep my iodine up for my cleaner shrimp will letting it fall off a bit help ??

yesterday i bought my kids two goldfish, (they are gold with black spots on and lovely big white tail fins). I was wondering how often should i feed them and how often should i change their water. Can anyone help?? Also while im at it, should i buy one of those water filters?

you can see stripes on her, so can you be sure shes ready if you can see horizontal lines or vertical to know if she is scared or ready to mate

i've had it for over a year. i don't know why i'm just now trying to figure out what it is. i've read on the internet that sometimes fish are dyed.. do you think my fish was dyed?!
also, what kind of fish get a long peacefully with this kind of fish? i had 2 of these fish, but i went out of town and my roommate forgot to feed the fish, so i want to get a buddy for the survivor.

I just started up a seahorse tank with 2 kudas. What is the best way to keep the water quality in good condition? I notice they dont eat all thier food and it seems impossible to get out all uneaten food. I plan on doing 10% water changes every 2 weeks.

Hey I have had my tank for about 3 months now. Everything was going great. I have a 46 gallon with 2 discus and other community tank members. The other fish get scared when the discus get closer to them because I guess of the discuss size. The discus are about 3-4 inches in diameter. The water is at 82 degrees with a pH around 5.8 to 6.0. The 2 discus have been doing great with each other. How ever one of the discus out of nowhere just started to swim very fast and hit the top of the tank a few times. He is just settled down and I guess he did it for about 10 seconds. But he now has the black stress lines along his sides. I just did a water change this morning, so I do not know if that caused some stressed. But I always add some stress zyme in there along with aquairam salt. But I was just wondering what was the cause to his behavior and how do I prevent this from happenening again? I want to make sure that the discus' are very safe and happy. What am I doing wrong?
