I know the koi and goldfish are fine for the winter, wasn't sure about snails?

depends on the type of snail, i'm assuming you mean an aquatic snail like the Chinese Mystery Snail commonly found in pet shops. i don't know how they would do in the cold, but i wouldn't test it. you shouln't release something into your yard the isn't native. god knows what could happen. one morning you wakeup and there are snails everywhere! and don't think that couldn't happen, snails are Monoecious (both male and female at the same time) and produce around a hundred eggs at a time!

so, yeah. no snails in your yard.

It would depend on the type of snails you have. Some tropical snails (those sold for fishtanks) may not be able to survive in the colder water, but others may be able to withstand the colder temperatures.
