As long as there aren't any additives (fragrance, detergents), yes.

You can also use a small pinch of fish food.

Yes, you can, as long as you use fragrance and soap free ammonia.

If you can't tell if it has soap, shake the bottle. If there are a lot of bubbles that stay for longer than a few seconds, the ammonia likely contains soap and should not be used.

I would just add some fish food, or a piece of frozen shrimp to start your cycle.

pretty much anything, I've even heard of people peeing in their tanks to start it.
