Please do yourself and your betta a big favor and keep him in his nice spacy tank you have gotten him
It's the best choice you could have made for him

This little lavalamp, doesn't even hold 1/2 gallon of water, what do you think? do you really believe your betta would be happy in there??????

I doubt it very much, keep hime where he is

For all the others that believe bettas need to be in small tiney bowls, you should read this article and educate yourselves

Hope that helps
Good luck

The lamp looks as though it is only an air pump with a light that reflects off the bubbles.

The tank is just the shape of a lava lamp.

I don't personally like these things because they are FAR from natural and put undo stress on the fish. He would probably survive, but it would not be in his best interest. He would be stressed by the small environment and high water flow caused by the bubbles. I would leave him right where he is, that sounds much more suitable.

To answer your question more directly, he would be highly stressed which will more than likely shorten his life span.

Yes, if you keep it clean it will survive, at least for a while.

And what a horrible life, sitting in that tiny space with no room to swim or do anything at all? I watch my betta swim all over the place in his 15 gallon planted tank and wonder how anybody can keep them like that, or in any bowl, and I wonder what on earth the point is - you may as well get a plastic fish. People who buy those are selfish - they want something cool, and don't care at all about the fish they put in it.

I have my betta swimming around in a 20 gallon community tank with several other fish. To date I haven't had any problems with it at all. I can't see how anyone would want to have a fish in such a small container. Why bother?

i fully agree with ghapy, shops that sell these are worse than those who buy them... most well respected fish shops would never recommend one of these to put any fish in let alone a betta which needs room to swim and hide... i have a 55 gallon with a wide range of fish in but i wouldnt dream of overstocking... the life of your fish is more important than if you look cool having one of these or not.... DONT get one!!

I'd have to agree with the first answerer...but the "tank" does look cool! lol. Even though it's pretty and everything though, I'd keep your little fishy in your current tank. It will be much happier with all that space compared to the tiny one!
hope your fish lives a long life, good luck! :D

betas do high-quality with dragon gobies. kinda humorous b/c I in simple terms offered a dragon goby final week and it does high-quality with the beta. humorous element approximately dragon gobies is they seem vicious yet not often...mine gets kinda beat up :( Oh, and you dont could desire to feed the goby basically at nite b/c they actually adjust to feeding for the duration of the day even nonetheless they are nocturnal

it probably can survive it but I do not recommend it is way to small and it probably will stress the fish out to much being in such a small place. I would not buy it

Yeah! Thats so cool.
Bettas like small, dark environments.
Wow, a 5 gallon tank. Lol thats pretty big for one betta. If your that conserned about your Betta's safety; you could speak to someone who works at Petsmart.

Beta's can live in very small tanks. So yes he could live in that one. The lava lamp thing is cool.

With our beta's we have had the most success with them living in a large vase with a plant in it. Our current beta loves to hide in the plant and makes happy bubbles regularly. The plant also helps so you don't have to clean the tank as much.

I had a beta in a smaller tank than 5 gallons, when I was in college, but he was the only fish in that tank. What size was the tank? Honestly I don't remember but it was easy to take him when I moved cause I put the whole tank in a cooler and left the top of the cooler open. He traveled very well considering.

The one thing I would worry about with the lava lamp tank would be the lights stressing out your beta. I have no idea if they would care or not, but I think if I had to live with a lava lamp with lights on me 24-7 it might get tiring.
