I have a 2 inch gourami and his tail is turning clear and he looks sick, none of his fin is missing, his whole body is not missing anything. Now a small spot around his eye is turning white. None of my other fish have this just the gourami, i recently for some unknown reason lost my 2 other red gourami and dont know why. I have two big white gouramis that are doing great. Any ideas. Water levels are all awesome, its a 55 gallon tank with heater, dual filter with media in it.

I have tried everything. I read alot online about the disease and treatments for it but nothing seems to be working. I just got the tank a little over a week ago and i put some fish in it and now ick is spreading rapidly in the tank. I cant seem to get it under control. Is there any advice anyone could give me? I am at my wits end.

I am setting up my saltwater tank and I am using a brand new Instant Ocean hydrometer. I mixed my saltwater yesterday and it has been circulating and aerated for 24 hours. However, when I use the hydrometer to test the S.G., it gives me way different readings every time. I am rinsing it before use and setting it on a level surface. Am I doing something wrong??

Hi, my betta is sick! Symptoms include either racing around his bowl or lying listlessly on his plant, rubbing against plant, not eating, not excited. I've identified white specks mainly on his fins, but a few on his body and suspect it's ich. I've ordered aquarisol and aquarium salt, but it's not going to get here for a few days and I'm scared! What's the best thing I can do for him while I'm waiting for the medications to get here? Also, do you know if regular pet stores usually carry fish medications?

so i have a 5 gallon tank with a filter and no heater, up until now i didnt think i needed one. i used to have tetras and a betta in it...like an idiot my friend who was watching my aquarium while i was out of town changed all the water and im pretty sure she put it them, in too soon and the water may have been too cold/hot, as you guessed they died. so now im trying to restart my tank up and my water is currently 72 degrees far. im not sure what the ideal temps are for freshawater fish and was hoping for help. i think its still too cold but just wondering.

My rosey red minnows are very active there is one large one that stays in the rock cave and it fights off other fish that come close. I think it is a male but im not sure because it has no dark spots or anything. Im pretty sure out of the other three their is one female is there a chance that they might be spawning?

One of my guppies or neon tetras (I'm not sure which one) had some babies yesterday (2) They were really tiny and swimming on the top of the water. I've never taken care of baby fish before but I bought a breeder net to separate them from the other fish and some baby fish food. What else do I need to do to ensure that they are healthy? Should I put a plant in their net so they can hide? (do they have hiding instincts?) Should I keep the tank light off? I did today because I thought they would do better in darkness. How long until they are full grown and can be put with the other fish?

Any other suggestions?

I bought a clown loach about a week ago, and I only saw it once after adding him to my tank. Today I was getting concerned, so I pulled out every decoration in the tank, making sure to check inside any hollow ones. The loach is nowhere to be found. I searched the outside the tank in case it had jumped out. None of the other fish are big enough to have eaten it. So where could it possibly be?

My friend's guppies were normal, but now I noticed that two females got crooked backs. As if the fish is "bent" in the middle and the tail is pointing down when the fish is horisontal. Any idea why that might be? They are about 2 years old and seem healthy otherwise.

In the past week or so, I've had about 7-8 fish die. It first started when one of my fish in one day, her back was slanted/hanging down. Than a day after another one of my fish was bleeding internally, I could see the blood through the skin. Now one by one each fish would be in a corner for a day or so than I find that same fish dead the next day. I really want to fix this problem please and thanks.

well I have only a few fry remaining, 4 to be exact. They have passed the 2 week mark and are doing great with my infursia(sp?) culture. Everything is developing normally and they have a healthy appetite, but what do I feed them after the infursia?

Will they take specially made baby betta food at this age or should I wait until they hit the 3 or 4 week mark?
