well I have only a few fry remaining, 4 to be exact. They have passed the 2 week mark and are doing great with my infursia(sp?) culture. Everything is developing normally and they have a healthy appetite, but what do I feed them after the infursia?

Will they take specially made baby betta food at this age or should I wait until they hit the 3 or 4 week mark?

You should probably have them on baby brine shrimp by now. They're large enough to switch to this in abour 5 days after they become fre--swimming. I usually add a little to the microworms starting about 3 days into feeding for those that develop faster, but feed the infusoria for about a week for the slow growers. That way, they can choose their food by their size.

I've had better luck raising the fry on live foods than trying to get them to accept commercial (dry) fry food. The movement seems to stimulate their feeding. See this for more on raising fry: http://www.bettatalk.com/rearing_the_fry.htm

get the corner of a plastic bag and but in some tropical fish flakes, crush them up until just bigger than a powder. Then with an aquarium wet toothpick, dip it in the powder. The put it in the tank where they are.Make sure they can see it, as since it is new fod they may not recognise it as food until a few days

good luck and congrats

if you boil an egg and take out the yolk, put the yolk in a plastic bag add a few drops of water and mash, then freeze the mixture.

cut a small bit of the corner end of the zip-lock, so you can control the amount of food you are giving them and not foul the water, swirl a bit of the frozen mixture in your tank. it's just as good as expensive fry paste.

I also crush into a fine powder a mixture of flakes and freeze dried bloodworms in a zip-lock, extra fine, and add a small bit at feedings.

When i got my turtles, I put some baby fry in their tank as feeders, and the turtle food is high protein, and they grew bigger than you can imagine in 3 months time.
