I've always wondered how my fish would react if I jumped into the aquarium with them; if they would approach me, or hide, or swim excitedly and kiss me...

Has anyone ever done this before? And has anyone else wondered the same thing, or am I 'unique'?

I recently bought 2 guami's and 8 tiger barbs and 1 red tailed shark I also had a sucker fish all have died except the guami's . When the others died i noticed they were covered in a clear slime .they didn't all die at the same time it's been over two weeks. I added water softener to protect their scales and cleaned the filter. I also replaced 25% of the water. I don't want my two remaining fish to die but I'm afraid to do anything to the water for fear that I will kill them. does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be and how I can fix it. P.S I bought the fish from petco and they told me to add their water to mine when I transfered the fish. I never had these problems before. I'm going to get the water tested today. I also want to move my tank witch would mean draining it but I know that that can shock the fish any ideas on how to do it.

I took this photo of a community tank at a public aquarium, and saw these two fish mouth-fighting. Very interesting to watch. Now I'm trying to figure out what kind of fish they are. Can you help me?

I bought 4 fish from Petsmart about a month ago- 1 male and 3 females. My male died on Saturday (I called Petsmart, he suspects it was fin rot) , but i noticed that one of my Silvers is pregnant. I've read some of the articles on here and I was thinking of buying a breeding tank, but i was just wondering,I know male fish eat the fry, but do Female fish eat them too? Would a breeding tank be necissary in this case?

How do you grow a java fern? I found an online place to order rhiozomes from, I've heard you need to anchor it on something. I only have a 2.5 gallon tank at the moment so is there any way I could keep it alive in there until I get a 10 gallon? Does anyone have any links about growing the fern? Thanks!!

I don't have a gravel vac, and right now I'm in a situation where I can't afford to spend $5 or more on ANYTHING. My tank needs cleaned, though.

I have a 10 gal, with a lot of plants and a saturated log. I rarely ever have to do anything to my water or anything. I'm also running two filters.

I have four fish.. One Placo, and the rest are Platys. Two just had baby fish and there is poop and stuff EVERYWHERE. My water is still very clear, but the poop is on the gravel..

How can I clean this? Should I take out most of the water, transfer it to another tank, transfer the fish, and rinse it? I don't have a gravel vac, and like I said, I can't afford anything extra right now.. Pleeeeaaasee help. =) Thanks!!

I'm just wondering because I'm allergic to bloodworms, and I think brine shrimp, and I REALLY, REALLY want a betta. So I'm wondering if I can just use my tropical fish food that I use for my guppies, platies and mollies? If not, is there any type of food that DOES NOT contain bloodworms or brine shrimp? Looking for best answer

The leaves on some of the silk plants in my aquarium are turning brown, along with some of the gravel. It's very spotty but I notice more and more brown every day. The aquarium is filtered, not over stocked, I do 25% water changes every week, etc. Everything is otherwise fine. What could be causing this and what can I do to stop it?

2-3 inches each (species im thinking of) they are said to be docile but I didnt read anything about them being together. Also whats the max I could keep in a 40 gallon tank. And also they are said to be very easy to care for as far as saltwater fish are concerned is this true? (never attempted a saltwater tank)

I have one betta and three dainos and a small algea eater in a 10 gallon tank and as soon as i put the dainos and the algea eater into the tank he started to chase them. none of the fish are small enough to fit into his mouth. I have plenty of areas for the betta, "KJ", to hide and yet he still chases them. any advice would be greatful.

The water coming from my fridge (The one from the door) has a pH of 7.0. I did a 50% water change today and another one yesterday. I did a water change because my Betta has fin rot and I'm changing the water as much as I can. I use a Tablespoon of Aquarium Salt Instead of a Teaspoon. Anyways, My pH was 7.0 Yesterday but Now it's 7.2? Does pH rise on it's own? If Pantyhose has any affect on it, I shoved pantyhose down the mouth of my Powerfilter. It was rinsed in warm water before I did it though.

Our one goldfish, Calico, a Calico Oranda (i think) Morst likely has swim bladder, I have not yet tried the pea thing. I'm a little nervous to though. I just really need to know if it will (a) spread to the other 2 fish or (b) will my fish be okay/surive or will it die?

I have been keeping fish for many years(more then 10), and have been verry successful. I currently have 8 aquariums in fresh and salt. My neighbor decided to start her own aquariums after seeing mine. I offered my help, but of course she tried it on her own first. She started with a 6 gallon, a 58 (odd size?) and an around 28 gallon. She told me how she cycled and all sounded fine. She is having problems with the 58 only. The others succesfully have fish. She reported the water becoming cloudy, clearing up, then coming on again and killing her fish. I figured it was something she was doing wrong. She was new to this and had been told she needed a lot of chemicals. She didn't add as much as they said, but more then i do. I banned the chemicals. We restarted the tank using methods. At this point, i am just completely baffled.

I used to the same procedures as with my own tanks. After a really good cleaning (never with soap) we started it over. We filled it purified warer
