i just bought i a violet golby/dragon fish and i also bought baby shrimp for it to eat. The shrimp are baby sundried gammarus, they're pretty small and i can break them up a little to make them smaller. Will my golby eat this? or should i get other food?

thanks

He might eat them, but I'd soak them in water first so they sink - gobies eat mostly from what's on the bottom of the tank. If you need to crumble them up, that's okay.

Frozen might have been a better choice since these would sink easier. The next time you're at the pet store, get him some frozen (not freeze dried) bloodworms - they love these too. Also, if you can find them near you, live blackworms. They may also scavenge pellets once they soak in water for a while. Just don't overdo the amount you put in - anything that's not eaten will only make the water quality deteriorate.

You may not notice him eating very much - they do a lot of filter feeding on microorganisms in the substrate as well.

These fish should have some salt in their water - they come from brackish environments.
