I bought 4 Blue Rams Friday and noticed that one was always picking on another. I also notice that they both have a redness on their sides(almost like blood)(while the others dont.) is this from fighting or something else? Thanks for all the answers

My gold bar clown fish fins are looking tattered. She does not have an anonome only live rock in the tank...is the anonome essential? Could this be why she is looking tattered? The only other things in the tank are snails and a hermit crab and regular crab which pretty much leave her alone.

I'm choosing not to rush picking my fishies :).

So far I did some research and am interested in Mawali Cichlids (though internet info is very mixed). I also want a red tail shark and understand the dangers of keeping it with large, agressive cichlids so I know to be careful. I have a 30 "square" gallon tank cycling (very slowly) and hope to keep

1 Red Tail Shark
1 Electric Yellow Cichlid

as well as at least 2 more fish.

I understand that I have to carefully find the right balance of pH and hardness to suit all my fishies. They should be at least 3 inches so they don't get picked on, but no more than 7 inches to avoid being the menace.

Since I'm not a big fan of "boring" fish - I need help picking mild cichlids that would fit in this aquarium.

If possible, their diet should be higher on the veggie side and should live at least 6 years.

Thanks!

I am currently thinking about breeding a pair of fighters, I have a male which is starting to build bubble nests. But if I go and buy a female, when do I introduce her, and for how long do I introduce her until I take her or him out? Also, if the male has built the bubble nest then how long does it take for the eggs to be laid and for them to hatch. Thanks alot

My tank is 55 gallons, I currently have a penguin 350, so the emperor 400 isn't that much of an upgrade, but at that price I figured why not? Was this a worthwhile purchase? Or should I wait until I find a good deal on a canister filter? Then again, 55 gallons isn't that big - maybe I don't need to worry about an upgrade at all. I should also mention - the filter cartridges are half price as well. The rite size "c" and "e". Any advice?

I really like the oranda goldfish, and, I found out that they have one at my Petco! They are SO cute, but, before getting one, I have a few questions:

1. Are they easy to care for?

2. What kind of tank will one require?

3. Do you recommend any books or links?

Thanks for all of your help! Thanks again, and, 10 POINTS are given in the end! THANKS!

left it so I adopted it buy I have no place to put him as Ive been keeping him in a 5 gallon aquarium and only recently found out its not suitable and now he seams either sick or depressed he's been hiding under a plant for days (he's alive) I think it made it worse I tried to put him in with my tetras in a much larger tank and he just scared them. I cant switch tanks cause I have 5 in the 10 gallon. Please help do you think there's someone would want it?

I am on my 3rd air pump. They all run for about 2-3 months and then suddenly stop producing bubbles. I have switched out the bubble stones and it doesn't help.

So my question is "Do I really need an air pump?". I have real plants in my tank and a filter. It's a 100 gallon tank.

Secondly, any idea why this is happening? I love the look of the bubbles, but this is getting to be a pain. Thanks!

My air pump in my tank broke and I moved them, both females, to a tank with a single male until I can get a new air pump. The male keeps chasing them around the tank. Would it be a good idea to keep them in there until I get a new pump( in two days) or would they be able to survive without the air pump for a couple days?

Thanks
