I'm in the process of buying a 150 gallon fish tank fairly cheap. My plan is to raise minnows from our creek to see what they grown into for fun. This size of tank is new to me and I need to determine what size filters and pumps I will need. Can anyone give me advice on this? Like I said, this is all new to me so any advice you can give is appreciated. Thanks!

I know that there are some naturally sinking driftwood. My question is if a piece of driftwood floats, will it eventually sink if it gets waterlogged? And how long should I expect a 12-15" piece to take to sink?

I'm not sure whats wrong with my Beta fish, she just kinda sits at the bottom of the tank all day but when I tap on the tank she starts swimming real fast but she cant really balance herself. She doesnt eat, I feed her but she wont go to the top to eat the food. Anyone know what could be wrong? I dont see any fungus or holes in her fins.
Thanks in advance :)

Im interested in starting a mangrove swamp. Im not gonna build the tank just yet but I am still gathering the facts.

-How should I set-up the mangrove swamp?
-What equipment is needed?
-What fish would go well in the set-up and what would I feed them?
-What should I put in the water??

Any other suggestions would be appreaciated.

I have a green-spotted puffer, and he has a 10 gallon tank - I've been putting in about 3/4 cup of salt solution, after looking everywhere on the internet for the right amount that should be put in. Does anybody know some sort of "recipe" for how much of the salt needs to go in the water?

I came home from school today to see that my female mollie, that I thought was pregnant, dead. I thought I fixed the problem a few weeks ago when i saw my other female mollie dead, she had really bad ripped tail. I thought it was my betta, so i separated it. But today when i came home i saw my other mollie up against the filter, skinny, pale, and being sucked on by my other fish, im not sure what kidn it is, but it usually sucks on the side of the tank, and its fins were a little torn but not really that bad. I saw my male mollie that I have been trying to breed them with hiding in a cave which i have never seen him do. My tank consist of 1 male mollie, 1 dwarf Gourami, 2 white cloud minnows, 1 sucker fish thing..lol, and 3 fish i dont no what they are my mom gave em to me but they arer liek speacxcialy breeded fish and are small and really bright colors. What do oyu think happened?!

I have a 2.5 gallon unfiltered tank and I have tried two different heaters for my betta Marvin, neither which seems to be working. One was a 7.5 watt which was a waste and now the 25 watt doesn't seem to be doing a thing. I even turned it up to the highest setting, and nothing. The water temp fluctuates between 68-72 degrees and I would like it somewhere between 72-78. Any ideas? Since a higher wattage heater isn't an option, I don't know what else to do.

All my koi and goldfish are slowly dying.I autopsied a koi about 8 yrs old 2 ft and 20 lbs.I found his whole inards coverd with what i can only describe as fish-egg looking but about the size of a needle head.It was beize in color and there had to be thousands of them. The fish have been slowly dying over a period of 2 weeks slowly getting lethargic and hanging under the waterfall.I tried salt baths and melafix and pimafix .ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ? Also would it be safe to introduce new fish in the future or completly empty the pond and hopefully the problem.
