Is it possible to breed two different color discus, or do they have to be the same color?

You COULD breed two separate varieties (if they are the same species), but PLEASE don't! Breeders have taken years to perfect traits in each variety of Discus, and crossing a Snakeskin with a Pigeon, for example, is just going to create worthless crosses that will really not be very attractive. If you really want to breed Discus, get two that look very similar (in patterning and coloring). If you aren't already aware, Discus can be very picky about water parameters (though they have become much more tolerant since many are tank bred). Keep a STABLE pH of 6.0 and a temperature of about 82* to breed your Discus as well as feeding a variety of meaty live/frozen foods in addition to pellets. Email me if you have any questions.

You can, but if you do try, please don't try to get rid of the offspring. Above stated reason is good enough.
If you were a professional breeder attempting to come up with a new coloration/pattern, it'd be different, but that takes years.
