actually your best bet for ick, is to put the meds down, and do some freshwater baths. it works great for a lot of marine illnesses, and it doesnt hurt your tank. what i do, is get a large bucket, tank, (something big enough to hold at least a gal of water) and i put crushed coral at the bottom of it, fill with water (dechlorinated). that way, the crushed coral brings up the ph close to that of the saltwater tank, so its not too big of a water change! i also have a powerhead i have running in the water (you can use a air stone) to keep water movement in the water, so they can breath. then i place my fish in there for about 2 minuets (unless the fish shows signs of distress, then i promptly take them out). i did this 2 times a day for 3 days and it got rid of ick from my tang. the saltwater ick pretty much explodes in the freshwater (so its also cool to watch). its better then putting chemicals you dont need to in your tank. hope this helps!

other then that i dont know if you need to turn off your skimmer, read the directions, and if it doesnt tell you, there should be a number to call in the packaging, that you can ask someone who works for the product, and they can further inform you.

I have a hippo tang and they are ich magnets..This fish has had ich more times than i care to remember and I have never treated with medication..I prefer to keep meds out of my tank,..A healthy fish can fight off ich,,fish get ich in the wild and no one medicates then in the wild..
I use garlic to boost there own immune system.I buy liquid garlic and minced garlic from the grocery store and add some of the liquid to the water or there food,,I add minced garlic to there food as well..The fish eat the garlic and it boosts there immune system and they fight the ich off the selves.
I have had my hippo tang get ich alot and my salifin has had it once but both fought it off them selves.

Afraid I can't help answer your question because I've never used the product. There should be instructions on the lable for its use, but if not, or there's something that's not clear, here's the website with contact info for the company that manufactures it: http://www.waterlife.co.uk/waterlife/contact.htm
