I agree with Sunday.

The turtle will eat the fish. Prices range greatly.

You're best bet is to find a pet shop that specializes in reptiles, snakes, tortoises, turtles and other small and "exotic" pets. You could locate one in your area by calling a PETCO or similar franchise. PETCO and other similar stores may carry turtles, however, I would tend to be skeptical of the animal's health.

My suggestion would be to find a good pet store in your area that sells a variety of turtles and buy your friend a Gift Certificate.

By giving a gift certificate, your friend can select the turtle they would like to have and you wouldn't need to worry about where to keep it. Your current fish will thank you!!

Good luck

Get a book on turtles. Don't put it in the tank with your fish, they are fish eaters. It is not wise to give pets as gifts unless you know for sure that the person really wants the pet. Give the turtle book as part of the gift if that's what the person truely wants. Otherwise a pet as a gift is nothing but a hassle for those who really didn't want the pet to begin with, especially one that requires a fair amount of work to keep.

Most turtles would grow far too large for your mollies to even avoid getting eaten. If you get a really small turtle, maybe you can get one if it's small. Also, I think it's illegal to sell turtles that are smaller than 4 inches.

I would say... NO because a turtlle would probably have differnt water than them.. And would possibly kill the fish you have... Could also hurt the tortoise..

you shouldn't they need different waters. The tortoise would probably eat it.
