Do jack dempseys change thier sex to mate?

A jack dempsey is a fish of the cichlid spieces that changes color whe mad. I was wondering do they change their sex too?

Many fish do, but I've never heard of Jack Dempseys being one of them. Even more fish change colors to express their moods, and there's often a color change associated with mating in some of the cichlids, but that doesn't mean their changing their genders.

It may be a display for their mate showing their readiness to spawn, or an aggressive/ territorial display to show they aren't ready, or to stay out of the other's space.

If they're complaining about the water temperature, then most likely they are female. :)

dude, wtf is a jack demphey?? and why wuold anything wanna change its sex to mate?? what diffrence would it make if the man now becomes the woman, and the woman, the man.
