Hi,
I have a 20 gallon tank with 4 tetra (pristella and neon) and 6 cory catfish (4 peppered and 2 pandas). I was wondering if anyone knows if I need an airstone in this tank. I have a large airstone in my 30 gallon for the two goldfish in there but was not sure that this tank needed one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

He started almost ramming into things and now he has huge gashes on his head. I did have to add fostfate remover to the tank about 4 days ago, but it was supose to be safe for my fish and I used the directions exactly. He just keeps ramming into everything and I do not know why. I just noticed this today. he does have an albino oscar with him, and they have more then enough room. His tank is clean. I dunno what else it could be.

I was told it would be okay to put 5 Balloon Mollies with 6 Guppies in a 12 gallon tank. Does that sound okay?

But this one is now lying on it's side, and has a speck of cloudiness in it's eyes....what can I do? Can I call petsmart to help? PLEASE HELP ME!

How do you tell if it is male or female? Also, does aquarium salt hurt them?

Okay, I have a few questions about raising guppy fry. I breed guppies, and I have decided to keep the babies in my main tank, so I have some questions about that...

1. How will my guppy fry be able to find their food that I give them in such a large tank?

2. Should I feed them liquid food or powdered food? Which is easier for them to find?

3. What can I put over the filter to stop them from being sucked in? Or do they just avoid the filter completely?

4. Should I just use my old 1 gallon plastic tank to raise the fry? Or is my 20 gallon tank with the adults okay?

Someone PLEASE answer!!!!

Do all pufferfish stay on the surface, do they have the ability to swim to the bottom? I have seen them at stores and i don't think i've seen any swimming around the middle or bottom of the tank.

Also are they puffed up like that all the time or can they release the air and make themselves smaller? I thought that puffing up was just a defense mechanism...

One side of my Beta's stomach is swollen, looks like he swollowed a tiny marble. Otherwise he seems to swim the same and his color is still vibrant. Is this a common condition?

We're moving tomorrow.. and last night we realized there are a bunch of baby fish in our tank with the cichlids..... they are all protecting them, shifting off guarding.. its pretty cool...

We noticed one of the other cichlids... one of our biggest ones is pregnant.

We're moving about 45 minute drive away from where we are now....

What is our best way to move them, without killing them? I really don't want to have to get new fish, because I love these ones.

Any suggestions, or step by step on how to do it would be MUCHLY appreciated!!
Thanks!!

How can you tell the sexes of the two breeds? Also do tetras have babies or are they kinda like goldfish and generally do not mate?

okay so I my guppies just gave birth a couple of days ago to their first brood. All of the babies though are plain colored without any markings at all. When do their colors and markings start to change? Just curious. -Nicci

I'd like to set up a filtered 5- or 10-gal tank. I don't want to deal with a heater. I live in SoCal, so the water temp would vary from 65 deg in the winter to 85 deg in the summer.

Can I keep some tetras or guppies with an algae eater or plecostomus?

What about just a couple of those little fantail goldfish?

Thanks!

The rocks and plants in my aquarium have a brown stain on them. I thought at first it was a deposit left from using aquarium peat. Now the water is cloudy also. The Nitrite is 0, and the nitrate are in acceptable levels.
