If your doing tiger barbs, none. Get a 20 gallon tank and get about 5 or 6 tiger barbs. They like to be in groups.

i cant agree with this 1 inch of fish per gallon. You have to take overall body mass into the equation. If you are talking of an african tigerfish you cant even put one in the tank. Same goes for tiger oscars. Post a pic of the fish you are speaking of because many things may be called tigerfish. the two i mentioned get very large and no way will it work out in a 10 gallon tank.

Jordan is right,a10 gallon tank is too small for any workable number of tiger barbs, which I assume is what you are asking about.

I wouldn't put more than 3. I bought 4 about a year ago. 1 died and the others more than tripled in size. They are HUGE and aggressive. 2-3 would be great in a 10 gallon aquarium. I have a 55 gallon with oscars, silver dollars and red fin sharks and they all get along "swimingly"!

you can get an inch of fish per gallon of water so if the fish is expected to get 5 inches then you could fit two in your 10 gallon tank. Alot of people will tell you not to but I started off with a 10 gallon tank, I've recently upgraded to a 55 gallon and all of my fish are still alive.

A tank can hold one inch of fish for every gallon of water. A 10-gallon tank can therefore hold 10 inches of fish, so it depends on what size tiger fish you are getting.
