He started almost ramming into things and now he has huge gashes on his head. I did have to add fostfate remover to the tank about 4 days ago, but it was supose to be safe for my fish and I used the directions exactly. He just keeps ramming into everything and I do not know why. I just noticed this today. he does have an albino oscar with him, and they have more then enough room. His tank is clean. I dunno what else it could be.

There really aren't any diseases that cause this type of activity, unless you see him rubbing against objects in the tank as well, then you might be dealing with an external parasite such as ich or velvet.

Other reasons why he would act that way would be related to needing a bit more space or possibly trying to escape from the other Oscar in the tank.

You need to sit down across the room from the tank for a little while and just sit still and watch them to see whats happening in the tank. The longer you can wait the more you can observe and see what he's doing unusual. Watch closely for rubbing against things or one Oscar chasing the other.

Ummm,

Phosphate remover for what? That's basically algea control, not any type of medication. I think there's some problems here.

More then enough room, no offence to you, but I've seen people think that a 25 gallon tank is more then enough room because thier Oscar was 3 inches. Yes, but is that Oscar going to stay 3 inches it's whole life? They grow between 1-2 inches a month for the first year of thier life, and leaving them in a tank that small is just going to stunt them and cause them to die eventually. Please keep in mind, an Oscar, a single one, should have and be in at least a 55 gallon tank. I only reccomend you start out with the tank that size so you wouldn't have to go buy a new tank and figure what to do with the old ect...

Why he is running into things I suspect is linked to being in a tank, with another Oscar that's too small for it and possibly your water chemistry is not doing so well. Oscars are very active happy fish, and they will move around and move plants and decorations ect... but run a test on your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. If your tank is established, and you are not doing water changes about twice a week with 2 Oscars, I suspect you have some sick fish as the nitrate exposure must be pretty immense. Increase your water changes until you get a bigger tank, but don't wait long to do so. Bad water quality is a good way for that wound to get significantly worse. That's not HITH as one person says, if he's ramming the glass, he did it to himself and now you have an open wound. I'll key Magicman on this one for treatment.

By more than enough room, I assume you have a 100 gallon tank, since that is enough room for two (each need 50 gallons). Are the water conditions OK? Keep in mind oscars don't always like each other, you can't just stick two together. I would never add chemicals to a tank, that is unhealthy. Just have a very very good filter and change the water often.

Umm well i have a beta fish who cannot be with other fish because he ill start acting like that. So deoending on how long ago you got your other fish, that could be the problem. Try getting another tank and putting one of them in there. That may be the problem or maybe some kind of chemical thats in there could be the problem but I think you should try to put one in another tank and see if he stops. I read that when a beta and another fish are together they start doing that because it means they want to fight with the other fish so try putting them in seperate tanks because if they start fighting they're both gonna get really hurt.
