How can you tell the sexes of the two breeds? Also do tetras have babies or are they kinda like goldfish and generally do not mate?

To tell the sex of mollies simply look at the anal fin. On the male it is long and pointed while on the female it is rectangular in shape.

Tetras lay eggs and depending on the type of tetra and water conditions, they may do it often or next to never.

Tetras are egg-laying fishes with many different spawning schemes.
To answer your question about mollies look up gonopodium, the males have one.

tetras, i don't know about those ones, but mollies, the females are bigger and more plump. Not that mollies arent plump, but the females tend to be a little bigger.

molly's are easy to sex, because they have the analfin so called gonpodium for the male, which the female doesn't

Tetras are easy to sex as well, as the female will always be rounder then the male
