On a regular basis, that is the best thing. But overfeeding leads to a shortened life, so underfeeding isn't a bad thing as long as you don't starve them. Some fish people feed once every other day -- with goldfish I feed once a day what they will eat in a few minutes. HOWEVER, if you go on vacation it is safest to have a friend feed your goldies only once every fourth day, since they can survive it (and like with humans, it is detoxing and good to fast once in a very great while). In fact, goldfish are more likely to die when you return from vaction from dirty tanks and overfeeding, so it is much safer to have someone feed them once every three to four days depending how long your vacation is. Make sure to mix in some veggies like lettuce and zuccini or orange slices to keep goldie healthy. Krill is also good for hteir colors. NEVER use vacation food. good luck!!

It would definitly be a good idea to feed it every day. 2 or 3 times a day. They can go without food for days actually, but I highly do not reccomend it because you never know when they can get too hungry. Also, doon't overfeed them. Your fish will live a lot longer with food once a week than food 6 times a day. This is because a goldfishes body never tells it that it is full and it will lead to overeating and definite death.

Just like any animal yes you have to feed your goldfish every day. Be sure not to feed him too much. If you are feeding too much you will know cause the water will get cloudy quicker than normal.

No. Let them help clean the tank. More gold fish die from being over fed then from any other reason.

They have multi-day, multi-fish feeder cubes and even feeder devices on timers that feed twice a day. Perhaps you should look into this for ease of pet care.

Absolutely not. It's good for any aquarium fish to have a fasting day at least once a week..And more than once a week does no harm.
