Does he have the bubble nest made? If yes then it could take anywhere from 2-16 hours depending on how many eggs the female has. If he doesn't have a nest made then something is wrong and you should remove them from the spawning tank and wait a few weeks and try again.

It really can vary. I've had male bettas that haven't got a clue what they are supposed to be doing so no spawning ever goes on. I've had young females who are too scared of the male and won't let him get close enough to spawn. But I've had more pairs who, given the correct conditioning and allowed to see each other (through the glass) to start to get excited before being put together, will spawn within an hour or less. I've even had females who select the male she wants, chases all the other females away so they can't even look at him, and that female is so ready to get it on, it's almost comedic once she has her male available. Totally depends on the fish. If I don't see courting foreplay going on with the male and with the female within a couple hours, I recondition them and try again in a week or so--I don't like my breeders to get torn up and seldom have it happen this way.

This depends really on the readiness and willingness to breed of both the male and female. In my case, I usually put the female with the male in the morning and release her midafternoon, and they spawn the next morning. Although I have had pairs that spawned within a few hours after releasing the female, but this happened with season breeding pair.
I suggest leaving them together for another day or two, and if nothing happens remove the female and re-condition the pair for another week and try again.

Your male betta will need to make a bubble nest. It shouldn't take him along time. Your bettas should have heavy amount of eggs on her abdominal. The male betta would be ready when he finishes his bubble nest and the female betta has eggs.

The most imortant thing to do is conditioning them for at least 2 weeks before attempting to breed them
If you have done that, and then put the female in with him, it can take about 2-6 hours usually, for them to spawn and sometimes longer
You can leave her in there as long as he doesn't start to fight her

Hope that helps
Good luck
