I have a 10 gallon aquarium with 20 gallon filter. I plan on buying a 20 gallon aquarium with another 20 gallon filter and I was wondering if I could just take out the filter cartridge from my 10 gallon's filter and put it into my new filter so that I won't have to wait so long for the new aquarium to establish.

Will this work?

Set up my new 60 litre tank over the past two days..... Finnished planting it up about 12 hours aro. Added the water treatments TetraAqua Easybalance and Aquasafe. Also added a few flakes to get the cycle started..... noticed there seems to be alot of white specks in the water. is this just due to the fact that the water has not had time to filter?...

Also one more question After a week. And allowing my tank to pass the tests that im going to do in 7 days. would it be a good idea to buy 5 small neons and maybe a bottom feeder as my 1st fish and leave them for a week or so.. then add the likes of guppies and other fish?

My friend had 5 fish in her 20 gallon tank 2 were gold fish 2 were tropical fish and 1 was a algae eater. They all lived up until 7 to 10 years of age and got along great! Right now I have 2 goldfish and whenever I try to put a algae eater in with them they kill him otherwise they seem to be healthy and I have had them for about 4 months. Also people have told me goldfish will eat algae, not mine the tank keeps getting greener even if I clean it once a month and keep the water the way it should be. Also do you recommend getting a chemical that will not harm fish but kill the algae? I am kind of new to this any advice would be appreciated.

I have a 20 gallon aquarium someone gave to me because they moved. Anyway right now I have 2 goldfish that are very naughty and they attack and kill the algae & snails I had in the tank. When my friend had fish she had 3 goldfish and some kind of silver colored fish and they left the algae eater alone. Just wondering what fish would be compatible with the bottom feeders.

I read that if you put your pregnant guppy in a separate tank for her to give birth and their is not anoff free space for her to swim around she can become stressed. I put my preg guppy in a one gallon tank is that enough room for her? There is no other fish in the tank and she doesn’t seem stressed.

And 1 more question what is she doing by opening her mouth really wide out of no wear? Is their something wrong?
