how can you tell the difrence between male and female firemouth cichlids i have one and i am curios at how to tell the difrence

cichlids are pretty evil fish, as far as fish go. Bettas are typically only aggressive to another male betta where cichlids will eat anything that is not a cichlid, and even then there can be issues if there is a size difference. I wouldn't risk it unless you think the cichlid would like a treat.

The differences in fin shape are the best clues,but they may no be evident in young fish,also the color differences might not be really obvious until the fish are in spawning condition.
Just do what you can to get your fish in top condition(excellent water quality and a diet including some appropriate live food) and the sexual characteristics will become more pronounced and easier to discern.

Males have longer and pointed dorsal and anal fins and usually are more colorful especially in around the throat. These usually starts to appear as the fish are maturing.
