I read that if you put your pregnant guppy in a separate tank for her to give birth and their is not anoff free space for her to swim around she can become stressed. I put my preg guppy in a one gallon tank is that enough room for her? There is no other fish in the tank and she doesn’t seem stressed.

And 1 more question what is she doing by opening her mouth really wide out of no wear? Is their something wrong?

There is nothing wrong with her mouth, or her tank, but remember to put her back where she came from after she gives birth to the fry. Do not introduce the fry to the original tank until they are about 1cm long.

To be honest I don't know about putting your pregnant guppy in a tank by itself or how big is enough. But the part about her opening her mouth really wide out of no where....I noticed that two of my fish do the same exact thing after I clean their tank. I have a 30 gallon tank with about 12 fish. It doesn't seem to bother any of them except two (their no guppies though) So my point is she may be stressed out. The pet store said that could be what was wrong with my two (I found it odd also that they open up wide for no reason). Call a local pet store and see what their opinion is. Good luck.

Your guppy should be fine right now in a 1 gallon tank but after the birthing you should move her back to your show tank and let her rest.

Opening their mouth shouldn't be a problem. It's just them breathing the water in.

yes the 1 gallon is fine
as long it has the same waterconditions the the main tank, a filter and a heater that keeps the temperature at 78-82 degrees

what you're seeing on her opening her mouth might be from lack of oxygen
