I had three platies. Sadly two died, so recently I got four more. The first platy is just under a year now, and I got the new ones two weeks ago. The four new ones swim round together, but the older one won't swim with them, and often goes up to eat only when the others are finished. It's not as if they are chasing her or anything, they just don't seem to want to integrate with each other. Is this ok, and is there any thing that can be done?
Thanks

I have two red caps (goldfish) living in an aqarium in my room. One at the moment has a 4mm diameter, green dot growing. Any idea what this is? And how do I treat/stop it? Should I separate my 2 fish?

I have 10 danios, 3 marble mollies and 3 ballon mollies - all of them were doing really well.. until one of the blasted Danios had babies...! We now have 20 babies swimming about too..! It now seems that ALL of the fish are staying at the top of the tank - they are not gasping for air, but they are not going to the bottom of the tank at all. The babies are also at the top of the tank... they all seem OK - all eating and still swimming about... is it because of the babies? I am taking the babies out today - my aquatic shop is taking them. The bottom of the tank is littered with food and faeces - I am getting a suckermouth to deal with this, just don't want to get a new fish in the tank until I know what's wrong..! Any ideas?

I am moving into the country and the house has well water. When I first got my 10 gallon tank and the fish, I was told that I had to leave the "city water" out for 24 hours before putting the fish in so that the clorine will get out of the water. Do I have to do this with well-water or can I omit the waiting step?

These creatures look good and are pretty cool too.

I was wondering when will they start making clicking noises?

I mean, I haven't heard them making noises at all. On most websites I read that they make clicking noises when being fed, but I never see them clicking.

My Clown Loaches are about 1.7 inch long.

I have about 10 Loaches now and plan to buy the last two at the Fish Store near me.

I have recently got 3 candy platies at Petco. They are all females in a 10 gallon with a male betta. I want to add some other fish, like ottocinclus or zebra danios, but I don't know how long they grow to. I can't seem to find out how long they grow to be on the web, so please help!! Thanks!!!!
Btw, the betta will only eat pellets, is that ok for him, he won't eat bloodworms!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!

Ah...
I have been wondering about my Millienium 2000 Filter.
I have recently bought this filter like a 1 1/2 weeks ago.
Does this filter allow clear water, if so, why hasn't it discolor my water yet.
Do I have to wait longer for bacteria to show up in the bio grid?
And also I have been noticing that my filter started to have some leftover waste inside the filter, what kind of things do i need to get rid of it?

I tried searching this question in Yahoo Answers and nothing seemed quite right in answering my concerns.

Classic question...my betta fish is not eating.

He hasn't eaten in about two to three days. I have tried feeding him Hikari betta pellets, frozen bloodworms, and frozen brine shrimp and he is eating nothing. My water parameters look good (Ammonia and nitrite at zero and nitrate at about five). My temperature is at 78 degrees and has stayed constant. It is a 55 gallon with 8 zebras, 5 neons, 1 dwarf gourami and 6 ghost shrimp. Right now he is in an isolation / breeder net box, so I can see him easily. The only thing that really makes this question different from the similar ones, is that, when I look down on him, it looks like his body is crooked, almost like a crooked spine. Could this have something to do with his loss of appetite?

Please help. I will post additional details as needed.

P.S. The pet store didn't seem to help too much in suggestions, so I come to you.
