The two main things you need in order to keep an anemomie alive is
1: food ( iron ) feed every week about 4 drops
2 :proper lighting, if you dont have that you might as well through your money down the drain ( been there lol )
And of- coarse if you get an animomie you need percula clowns there so cute !! hahaha
GOOD LUCK~~~!

Keeping Anemones

There is only one type of anemone that a perc would live in. I believe but am not sure that it is a carpet anemone of some kind. Aquarium store would know what kind. It's been a long time since I had my tanks. The real problem is keeping the anemone alive. They are EXTREMELY sensitive to water conditions, temperature, salinity, chemicals, light etc. The other thing is getting it to feed on a regular basis. It is very difficult. They are so delicate and finicky. Good Luck!

The hardest part of keeping an anemone is giving it proper lighting. Anemones have a photosynthetic bacteria inside their cells that produces some of their food. Depending on the size of your tank, you should either have a compact fluorescent or metal halide (or a combination of the two) to provide an intense enough light to keep them alive.

As far as type, each clown has a few anemone species that will host it, but none are necessary to keep the clownfish. This link will give you a listing of clown-anemone compatibility: http://www.bestfish.com/tips/032698.html Of the types listed, the bubble anemone is probably the easiest to care for.

First. clowns will try to host in anything that resembles an anemone so it may not be their natural host but they will host in anything. I've had clowns host in Rose Bubbles to Long Tenticles.

Second. Anemones require food, ground up fish/shrimp, etc and dont' rely on the clows to provide it. 2 times a week. If it throws it up, then you need smaller food.

Third. The hardest part of anemones is getting a healthy one that hasn't had its foot torn in collection. Watch them for a couple weeks before buying and then make sure the fish stored knows how to "bag" them and then never try and move it yourself.

Fourth. Lighting is important but water quality is key!

I don't know much about anemones, but they seem to be very beautiful and almost seductive creatures. Good choice with the percs. I hope it works for you. My fish ran into problems as of late. Good luck with everything you do.
