It will kill snails, but it is harsh, risky not for only your filter but your fish, and contains copper sulfate as well as potassium sulphate.

I would recommend you to use anti snail of a good brand, like Tetra, and change 25% water every day while you are using the anti-snail liquid treatment becase it is not natural.

Yes, it most certainly damages the nitrogen cycle of the tank and can even wipe it out entirely. I would strongly suggest you use that as a last resort only! Try a snail trap instead. Just use a small plastic snap top container. Poke holes in the sides larger enough for the snail to get in but too small for your fish. Add a piece of lettuce and a little gravel from the tank to hold it down. Put that in the tank at lights out and in the morning you will be amazed how many snails are in there. Do it several days in a row and you'll get most all of them. If you have room in the tank, a clown loach is also a great snail remover.

I would strongly recommend a natural anti snail to a chemical treatment. Depending on what type of community you have.... If you have non aggressive fish get yourself some ghost shrimp they love snails as well as snail eggs and will help keep them in check. A few snails are beneficial but the little buggers can get out of control since they are A sexual and only require one to end up with hundreds as they do not require a mate. If you have a more aggressive tank such as barbs get yourself a couple of kribensis. They are a mild mannered cichlid that get along with tiger barbs etc. cichlids LOVE snails and will make short work of them.
In direct answer to your question it will not hurt your filters but can mess with your bio filter (the beneficial bacteria in your tank) As with adding any chemical or treatment do partial water changes while treating. Also keep an eye on your ph etc. As the snails die they will raise the amonia levels in your tank so partial water changes are essential. This is also another reason I recommend natural alternatives.
Best of luck to you

STOP USING ANTI SNAIL LIQUID, especially in a freshwater aquarium. DO a good water change and get yourself three or four clown loaches, they are a very hardy fish, they are about 9-10 dollars each. I had an infestation of snails somewhere like 200 of them and I bought four clown loaches and in three weeks they were all gone, then you can feed them algae wafers like you would feed a plecostamus. Plus they are a cool looking fish orange and black, but BE CAREFUL they are escape artists, but like I said VERY HARDY I had one jump out of the aquarium and by the time I realized it he was slightly stuck and drying out, I put him in the aquarium and he lived, I moved him into a 10 gallon aquarium and my automatic feeder overdosed on the food it killed everything that I had in the aquarium excet him. I Love My Loaches
