Our green terror cichlid has white spots on its fins, and on his body, it looks like its under his scales. His eyes are also kind of white and cloudy. We have seen ick before and are sure that isn't it.....any ideas???

This sounds like two different ailments. The cloudy eyes could be caused by fungal, bacterial, or protozoan infections.

The white spots, if not ich, may be velvet - this is smaller than the spots of ich and have a gold-rust color when you shine a bright light (like a flashlight) on the fish. You can treat this using a malachite green and formalin medication that would be used for ich, but the lights over the tank should be turned off during treatment (the parasite has a photosynthetic pigment, so preventing photosynthesis keeps it from producing it's own food). See this website for photos of these (and other) conditions to help you make a good disgnosis before treating: http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html - treatments are suggested within the page.

white spots are fungus growing, you must go to a fish aquarium shop and buy some product that stops it growing, just tell the your problem and they should give you the right stuff to clear it up, but you might have to seperate the fish from the others, if you have more than one fish.. as the others will become sick also.!! are you checking the ph level on your water?? are your fish stressed by a cat or birds passing?? i don't know if your fish are inside or outside, but they need attention now or they die!!

sounds like a fungus. My fish get something similar once in awhile. Treat the individual fish with your ick stuff or get fungus medicine. If you use the ick treatment it should only take one dose, sometimes 2 ,-3 days later.

Well the cloudy eyes sound a bit like Popeye (are they also bulging a bit?). Marcyn or Marcyn two treats Popeye as well as body fungus - that's what I'd suggest.

Also have your water tested - it never hurts to be sure the quality is good.
